Mass Listing Policy Violations

Hi all,

I am fairliy longstanding Amazon seller - selling perennial seeds. All my helath stats are usually very good.

Checked my account health today and had a heart attack to see that I had received last week 371 Listing Quality Violations - basically for every live product listing I currently have:

"Product Detail Page Rules Violation (Inaccurate information on product detail page)"

The problem is that I dont seem to have any way of knowing which field on the Product Detail page that is is causing the issue. I am guessing it is something in the my detailed descriprions of the product and germinating instructions, but is there any way I can narrow this down or test to find where the issue lies?

Thanks in advance for your help.

not that we have found when facing the same issues.

They simply expect you to know. You can try to contact seller support and ask and ask and ask again what the issue is causing the problem.

Eventually, they might tell you if you get a competent person on the other end.

Thanks, it will be a mega pain but for example if I deleted the product description for one of my less popular products, how long would it take to "clear" on the system?

OBviously I can then try and work out what is causing the issues - going to be several days hard graft!

normally, it’s quite quick to update and remove the violation.

You could post one of the affected descriptions here to see if anything stands out.

Though, and I’ve posted this instance as an example before we got hit with one where the issue was we were giving medical advice which turned out to be the use of a recycling logo, so sometimes it’s just impossible to spot what Amazon deems a violation.

Thanks - as it affects all my old listings (where I dont have bullet points etc) I am guessing that the error must lie in the "manual" product description, much of which is of course copied over when I make new listings - altough germinating instructions, details about the plant etc will be different.

Here is an example of one of product descriptions:

"Please find for sale 20+ Red Cape Honeysuckle seeds [Tecoma Capensis] , also known as West Indian honeysuckle - a vigorous and extremely fast growing plant producing masses of stunning of red flowers. I also sell the Orange, Pink and Yellow cultivars of this beautiful plant. <p>ALL ORDERS RECEIVED BEFORE 8PM WILL BR DISPATCHED SAME DAY <p> SAVE PACKAGING MATERIALS - SEE OTHER INTERESTING & UNUSUAL SEEDS & PLANTS IN MY SHOP <p> INSTRUCTIONS - TO SAVE PAPER I NO LONGER SEND OUT WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS TO CUSTOMERS.<p> INSTRUCTIONS ARE BELOW SO PLEASE BOOKMARK THIS PAGE. <p> Traditionally regarded as a greenhouse plant such is its growth rate in a single season, it is increasingly commonly being used by parks and gardens in the UK as part of their annual summer bedding programmes. It will in fact survive winters in much of southern England and inner city locations without much difficulty. Grow on hot south facing wall with moist and fertile soil conditions. Alternatively in colder parts, root cuttings and over winter them so you can get off to a fast start the next spring! <p>Seed Germination<p> Soak seeds in tap water for 24 hours <p>Prepare a well draining sandy compost mix - ideally 50% sieved compost and 50% horticultural sand <p>Ensure compost mix is damp but not wet<p> Place compost mix in a seed tray <p> Sow seeds individually, gently pressing them into the compost surface to ensure good contact<p> Cover seeds with a fine layer of the sand and sieved compost mix<p> Keep in a warm, light place at circa 20c-25c but out of direct sunlight<p> Ensure compost mix does not dry out <p>Seedlings should appear in 3-6 weeks depending on conditions<p> Pot on as required

the only allowance has been </br> for a couple of years now. Now why they only track down usage of < p > in batches is beyond me.

I take it you can’t do this via a flat file upload? Just do a find and replace on the paragraph tags?

00

Seller_AbNxRoXI4hg4U

Thanks for your help - i guess find and replace is the best way to go.

For small businesses we just dont have the time or resources to monitor Amazon technical briefings etc. I guess large companies can dedicate resources to checking whats coming down the line to avoid these kinds of shocks.

Bullet points missing is one that causes issues now, as does the words 'delivery' or 'dispatch'. I've had all mine (at least not all at one go!) as violations due to mentioning that Express Delivery will be dispatched via Royal Mail Special Delivery.

Once I've added bullet points and removed those 2 words, I've not had any issues.

the p for paragraph doesn't get picked up on (yet!) , but as I've corrected the other issues, I've been updating to the br.

We've started having the same issue too where there's nothing obvious in the content that's against policy and we only use the allowed tags for line breaks.

We submit our information via Channel Advisor (or Rithum as they call themselves now) and have raised a case with them and they came back to other errors for the same SKUs where it's saying the products are in the wrong product type (even though we submit the correct Amazon browse nodes!) so am waiting for a response from them as to why this is the case - maybe this could be an issue if you are using the third party to load your data into Seller Central too?

We've started having the same issue too where there's nothing obvious in the content that's against policy and we only use the allowed tags for line breaks.

We submit our information via Channel Advisor (or Rithum as they call themselves now) and have raised a case with them and they came back to other errors for the same SKUs where it's saying the products are in the wrong product type (even though we submit the correct Amazon browse nodes!) so am waiting for a response from them as to why this is the case - maybe this could be an issue if you are using the third party to load your data into Seller Central too?
