Repeated Automated Rejections on Brands we have been selling years
I’m hoping to get some advice or visibility on a very serious issue we’re currently facing with our Amazon.co.uk seller account.
Over the past week, we have had hundreds of ASINs restricted across many brands, which represents the majority of our catalogue. This action was taken without any prior warning or request for documentation, despite us having over 10 years of selling history and consistently strong account health.
We fully understand and respect Amazon’s requirement for supply chain verification. However, the way this has been handled is extremely concerning:
The restrictions appear to be account-specific, not brand-wide (other sellers are still actively listing the same products)
A large number of unrelated brands were restricted at the same time, suggesting this is not a normal brand gating issue
We are being asked to apply ASIN by ASIN, which is not practical given there are hundreds affected
Every application we submit is being rejected with the same generic message, often stating “potential document alterations”
The biggest concern is that:
👉 All documents submitted are 100% genuine and unaltered
👉 Supplier contact details are clearly provided and can be verified
👉 Despite this, responses appear automated with no clear explanation of what is wrong
We have now received multiple identical rejections across different brands, all citing the same vague reason without any meaningful review or feedback.
This is having a massive impact on our business, and we are struggling to get any clear answers or proper investigation from Seller Support.
Has anyone experienced something similar?
How did you resolve repeated “document alteration” rejections?
Is there a way to trigger a proper manual review?
Any advice on escalating this beyond standard support?
If any Amazon moderators or employees are able to review or guide us on this, it would be hugely appreciated. We are fully willing to comply and provide any documentation required—we just need a fair and transparent review process.
Thank you in advance for any help or guidance.

Hello @Seller_t0ytSKw9a3huV,
Thanks so much for your post. Amazon requires approval to sell in many categories, brands, and products and in some instances restrictions and policies change. While you may have been approved in the past, as the Amazon catalog grows, we continuously make new determinations on which products should be restricted, which is based on a number of factors. Amazon does this to ensure authenticity and customer satisfaction.
For this reason, you may be required to gain approval to sell certain products. In most situations, a direct invoice from the brand, supplier, or manufacturer is required. A Letter of Authorisation (LOA) can also be a valuable addition to your appeal in these situations if you’re sourcing directly from the brand or their manufacturer.
Your best bet is to work with the brand directly and get their approval to sell the product on Amazon. Once you have an approval from the brand and an LOA stating that you can sell their brand on Amazon, you can also work with the brand to add you as an Authorized Reseller of the brand in Brand Registry.
You will find more details about this using the resources below:
Products that require approval
Invoice requirements for when you apply to sell
Guidelines to source products to sell on Amazon
I hope this helps!
Best,
Kris

Hi @Kris,
Thank you for your response, but unfortunately this does not address the core issue we are facing.
We fully understand that Amazon may require approval for certain brands and that policies can change over time. However, the situation here is very different:
Hundreds of ASINs across ~80 brands were restricted at the same time
This was applied only to our account, while other sellers are still actively listing the same products
We have been selling these brands for over 10 years with strong account health
The main issue is not the approval requirement itself, but the fact that:
👉 Every application we submit is being rejected with the same generic response
👉 We are told documents show “potential alterations” despite being 100% genuine
👉 No specific feedback is provided to allow us to correct anything
👉 It appears there is no proper manual review happening
We are already sourcing from legitimate suppliers and providing valid invoices with full supplier details. We have also clearly stated that Amazon is welcome to contact the suppliers directly to verify authenticity, but this does not seem to be happening.
Requesting LOAs or brand registry approval for 80 different brands is not a practical or realistic solution, especially when this issue appears to be account-specific rather than brand-specific.
What we urgently need is:
A proper manual review of the submitted documents
Clear, specific feedback on what exactly is failing verification
Confirmation whether this is an account-level flag affecting all applications
At the moment, we are stuck in a loop of automated rejections with no path to resolution, which is having a severe impact on our business.
If this can be escalated to the relevant internal team for proper investigation, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Hello @Seller_t0ytSKw9a3huV,
If you do not want to go through the effort of requesting LOAs, here are some alternatives:
- If you do not have an LOA, but your distributor does, and it states they have permission from the Trademark Owner to distribute their branded products for the purposes of resale on Amazon by 3rd party sellers, include that in the case or with your appeals.
- If you have neither an LOA for you specifically or from your distributor, there is 1 additional option, assuming all of the brands you sell are enrolled in Amazon Brand Registry. The Administrator of the Brand can grant you an Authorized Reseller Role via their Amazon brand Registry log in. They just need to follow the steps provided in the Brand Registry selling roles help page. Please note, this is a Brand Owner process and not an Amazon completed process.
Hope this helps, and please let me know how it goes.
Best,
Kris

Hi @Kris_Amazon
Thank you for your reply, but I believe the main point is still being missed.
This is definitely not a brand-owner process issue.
The original email we received from Amazon clearly stated that this action was taken as part of a review of our account and supply chain documentation, and not because of any specific brand complaint or brand-owner restriction.
The key facts are:
The action affected hundreds of ASINs across around 80 unrelated brands at the same time
Other sellers are still actively selling the same products
The original notification specifically referred to our account review
Every application across multiple brands is being rejected with the exact same “potential document alterations” wording
This clearly points to an Amazon account-level review or verification issue, rather than something that needs to be solved by contacting 80 separate brand owners.
That is why suggestions around LOAs, Brand Registry roles, or brand-owner permissions do not address the real problem here.
What we urgently need is for this to be escalated to the internal Amazon account review / document verification team, because this appears to be a system or verification issue linked specifically to our seller account.
We are fully willing to provide any genuine invoices, supplier confirmations, or additional documentation needed, but the issue needs to be looked at from the account review side, not the brand side.
I would really appreciate if this can be passed to the correct internal team.
Thank you.

@Hello @Seller_t0ytSKw9a3huV,
Please note that I am unable to comment or share with you as to why other sellers are still selling products that you are currently restricted from selling. It's possible they've obtained an LOA, or done 1 or all of the other things suggested here. If there's anything you need to address, you'll be notified through your Account Health Dashboard, and/or through Performance Notifications.
Have you attempted to do one of the suggested steps with at least one of the brands? Perhaps that's a great first start. Feel free to share with me how it pans out.
Best,
Kris

Letter of authorisation from 80 brands? You calling this an effort?
Kai_Amazon
Hi @Seller_AoeGK1BjeRVxz,
Thank you for reaching out to us. The most straightforward path to ensure smooth approval is to have the brand owner add you as an Authorized Reseller directly through Brand Registry.
Please refer to the help page 'Brand Registry protection roles'.

Kai

we are going through exactly the same thing. Invoices rejected saying they suspect alteration (totally untrue if they had any suspicions whatsoever they would contact supplier, get proof and close your account) invoices rejected because they have already been submitted for another application (obviously suppliers produce 1 invoice per delivery and not 1 invoice per brand per delivery) invoices rejected because they cant verify ( i doubt they have even made any attempt whatsoever as the invoices are all legit and we buy from regular suppliers who have years of trading history. We have contacted Trading Standards, awaiting their response.
