How do you combine multiple orders in Click and Drop and not pay more postage?

Hi,
New to this Amazon/Click and drop thing. So we often have customers that buy multiple items separately on different orders. Before it was no problem, we just combined all the orders and made 1 postage payment. With the need for VTR when we have multiple orders we are having to buy multiple postage through C&D to satisfy the tracking details on Amazon. Is there any way to combine multiple orders into 1 postage and still satisfy Amazons need for VTR numbers?
Thanks

Add the weight and dimensions of both products to order one in c&d , Mark order two as shipped by another carrier , then manually add the tracking number to order two in amazon
(Order one’s should be auto updated)

Always double check it’s the same address
My first rookie mistake 15 years ago was combining 2 orders from 1 buyer on my website - only for her to complain 2 days later that she’d put in 2 separate orders as one was for a different office (1 business - 2 offices)

We never combine.
This covers us when scammers say “i only got 1 out of 2 items”
Up to you though.

Question to seller support a couple of months ago: One customer buys 3 different items on 3 different orders on the same day. Can I pack them all in the same parcel with one postage or do I send them all seperately with 3 postage labels. If I can send all in the same parcel with one postage how do I mark the other 2 orders as dispatched without getting a VTR on them please.

Answer from seller support: We understand that you are facing issues with the Valid tracking rate metric.
We at Seller Support understand the importance these type of issues hold to a seller and thus we will surely help you and provide the best possible outcome as per our policies.
Unfortunately sellers are supposed to confirm and dispatch each individual orders in separate parcel. Following this method ensures that each order ID has its own tracking ID so that the buyers can track their order.
We would appreciate your patience and understanding in this issue.

Outcome is I now just send them all in different jiffy bags with individual postage. Just have to cross fingers buyers order all on the one order lol

I use a third party package Packing Partner which sits between Amazon and C&D

It will integrate not only with Amazon but ebay and several other marketplaces, so I can download all orders from all marketplaces into it then use rules to specify where to buy postage and the service to use. It can also use the Amazon Buy Shipping API so in effect you are using Amazon Buy Shipping - but you can also use it to also send Amazon orders via C&D if needed.

It will also automatically combine orders to same delivery address. When it does this it uploads the same tracking number for both orders and I have never had a problem.

I regularly combine orders in one package, in fact I even get messages from customers telling me to to save my postage and packing materials!

However I use a 3rd party software that updates all the orders at the same time, which may be why I don’t get the id already used error.

Really its a stupid system if Amazon won’t let you combine orders, they claim to be environmentally friendly, and they want us to waste packaging.

I had one customer order 10 items all separately, was I supposed to actually use 10 board back envelopes and 10 labels to post the order… how is that helping me, the customer, or the environment…

They’re the Most hypocritical company I’ve ever had the (mis)fortune of dealing with…
