How is the 'On-Time Delivery Rate' fair for sellers
I have just had Premium Delivery options removed due to my On-Time Delivery Rate falling below 97%. How is this metric by Amazon even remotely fair when it is fully down to the courier? I send all orders on a next-day service and dispatch everything on time with valid tracking. What more can you do as a seller? Deliver the goods yourself!!
Seller support has no interest; they just say to solve the problem with the courier.
It is so harsh and unfair that I am penalised for something that is totally out of my control. I understand if the problems were because I had not dispatched on time or without tracking. But I do everything I can to meet the Amazon metrics. The only thing I am failing on is the only thing out of my control; how is that a fair system?
Also, what seems like a major scam is that if I joined SFP, then the On-Time Delivery Rate isn't even a metric that exists.

Yeah I'm in the same boat, rating fell to 96.4% because royal mail took 3 days to deliver a few RM24 packages and 9 days to deliver 1 order to Jersey which wasn't even a premium delivery.
shipped everything on time. Literally nothing more I could have done but let down by royal mail.
I send everything RM24 that I have set as a 2 day service. Have learnt there is no point offering 1 day service as RM24 is no way near reliable enough to maintain 97% delivery.
Have also set NL, wales and scotland to std delivery and send all those using RM48 but RM still not good enough. Its almost impossible to consistantly maintain above 97%.

Find the email that notifies you that your premium selling privilegies have been revoked. Reply to it with a Plan of Action stating that the item was sent on time and that it was down to the courier that it was delivered late. Any evidence (tracking, letter/email from courier etc) that you can provide from the courier to back this up will help.
Often if you do this they will reinstate your premium shipping and you will not need to worry about defects for another 30 days.
Not sure what method you are using to send but if you use RM Tracked 24 this is not guaranteed next day. It is just a delivery aim and Royal Mail can sometimes deliver within 2 days (or even longer).
