FBA Small and Light - Is it best to have 2 x listings of same product with 2 x different SKU's

Hi,

I am intending to send some of my better selling greeting card to the FBA ‘Small & light’ programme with the busy run up to Christmas.

I have just watched some of the ‘Seller University’ videos on FBA S&L, but just wanted to clarify with anyone on here, who might have some experience in this type of fulfilment.

It says that when you have chosen an item in your inventory that you want to go to FBA S&L, you ‘add another condition’ in the drop-down menu. So, you make an additional SKU for the S&L item. So in effect 2 x listings will exist – Original FBM listing and new S&L listing.

Does this mean that when you find my item on Amazon it will have 2 options to ship? Amazon and myself? Will it say Sold by AMAZON first and then Sold by myself?

I am sending to FBA to hopefully save myself sometime, so I would hope people would choose the AMAZON shipment option.

Does anyone know the reason for having 2 x listings, apart from having 2 x shipping options? My only thought, will it make it easier to go back to FBM fulfilment if FBA doesn’t have good results?

Also is the SKU code on the listing, what is referred to as an FNSKU? I understand I need to print these FNSKU Amazon barcode labels and apply to my card packaging as I do not have a manufacturers barcode. These are my own brand greeting cards.

Any help as always would be greatly received.

Many thanks,

Rich

Small and Light is ending on the 26th September and all S&L will be converted to regular FBA.

The lowest fulfilment fee under the new system will be £1.34. Most people selling greetings cards seem to have come to the conclusion that this makes FBA non viable for greetings cards, though some are going to try increasing prices.
