Credit Card Invalid while Account is Deactivated

Hello,

I started my amazon seller account a few months ago. A week ago my account on the United Arab Emirates got deactivated because they needed me to send a utility bill in my name, and i needed a few days to get it before actually sending it. All the other marketplaces got disabled as well as a result of the deactivation of my United Arab Emirates account( i sell internationally in many marketplaces on Amazon). I sent the utility bill after and few days, and reactivated all the other disabled marketplaces after sending them proof that my United Arab Emirates account got reactivated.

The problem is that before reactivating my United states account, the monthly charge method by amazon could not be made because my credit card did not have enough funds on it. So each time i try to reactivate my US based account, i get the following message on the home page of the United States market place "credit card disabled, Update Credit Card Info". I added funds to the credit card, but they sent me a message by email saying " we cannot verify your credit card information". Note, that they are taking the funds from my credit card each time i try to use it , they take the 1.23 USD and they still reject it, and send me the same email " cannot verify your credit card information". But, i had no problems with the same credit card for all the 3 months i have been using amazon before ( they charged the card successfully many times before without problems). I do not know why they are rejecting it now, I even tried several other cards ( all working and not prepaid cards) but they still send me the email saying they cannot verify my credit card.

My account is deactivated on the United States marketplace so i cannot send an email to the seller support because i need to first reactivate the account, but i cannot do so before verifying my credit card which was valid and working all the 3 months prior to this event.

I do not know what to do and it's really frustrating cause on one hand my account is deactivated (with no way of reactivating it before solving the credit card issue) and on the other hand, amazon cannot verify my credit card. And i do not have any way of contacting amazon seller support . Each time i do so i get the following email

“This email address is not the correct channel to submit an appeal. Please follow the instructions below to resubmit your appeal to the correct channel.”

I cannot appeal and submit information to reactivate my account unless i verify my credit card. And it is not working.

One more thing, all the credit cards that I used are 100% working, the billing information are correct and they still charge the card after each try ( the charge is 1.23 USD). So i am sure that the credit card that I am using is not the issue.

Any help or suggestions would be great honestly!

You make conflicting statements here:

"...the monthly charge method by amazon could not be made because my credit card did not have enough funds on it." " I added funds to the credit card...."

"I even tried several other cards ( all working and not prepaid cards)...."

The first statement sounds like you're using a debit card or prepaid card, yet in your second statement you say it's not prepaid. Which is it? A credit card extends you a line of credit and has a grace period to pay it back without interest being charged. It is not connected to a bank account and you can't add funds to it. The issuing bank sets your credit limit.

Amazon allows you to sign up for an account with a debit card and will charge a debit card for fees but it has been pretty well established you must have a credit card in order to sell. I suggest you read through the following Seller Help page.

Bank account and credit or debit card information for your seller account

Following are the Credit Card Requirements as posted by Community Manager@Sandy_Amazon

Amazon may take up to 48 hours to verify a card that has been entered.

Here are some information around Debit cards and Credit cards and requirements you should know registering your card.

-We definitely accept credit cards.

-We definitely don’t accept pre-paid cards.

-Debit cards have a range of permissions/functions depending on the bank, cardholder, etc. A debit card may or may not be accepted.

We verify your credit card based on the following requirements. Violating one or more of the requirements below will result in your card being denied by Amazon.

-The number you entered should match the number on your credit card.

-The billing address you entered should match the billing address on your credit card statement.

-The CVV code you entered should match the code on your credit card.

-The card expiration date should be at least 6 months from when you add the card.

-The card holder’s name you entered should match the card holder’s name on your credit card (in the Latin-script alphabet).

-The card should not be a prepaid, virtual, or gift card.

-The card should be chargeable in the currency of the Amazon store(s) for which the card is being provided.

-The card should have an adequate credit limit to pay for the charge.

-If you were asked to enter a unique security code by your financial intuition, the code you entered should match the code sent to the card holder via SMS, email, or token.

-If your card meets all the requirements above but is still listed as invalid, we recommend trying a different card or contacting your financial institution for further assistance. If you have tried at least two different credit cards that meet the requirements above and all of them were denied, reach out to Amazon selling partner support for assistance.

Hi @Seller_p0LvjEkkcBNiO,

Steve from Amazon here, thank you for reaching out. In this situation I recommend that you add a different valid Credit Card. Please note that Debit Cards or Pre-Paid cards may not be accepted.

Please ensure that your Credit Card meets the below requirements.

Credit Card

  • Is the credit card valid?
  • Is there a minimum charge amount?
  • Are you using a pre-paid card? (Note: Use of a pre-paid card is not accepted for a selling account.)
  • Does the bank have a record of the charge attempt?
  • Are there bank limits or policies that prevent the charge attempt from being authorized?
  • Is there any incorrect credit card information entered? (Note: All the credit card information entered such as number, name, address, ZIP code, or expiration date must be an exact match with your card details.)
  • Is this chargeable in the currency of the Amazon marketplace where you registered your seller account?

Once you add a new card, you will want to review your performance notifications to determine the steps needed to reactivate your account.

Thanks,

Steve
