£3.5k/day Ads Dropped to £900/day – Campaigns Stopping with No Explanation
Hi everyone,
I’m sharing this here because I honestly cannot believe the state of things right now.
Please see the two screenshots attached:
14th October – usual ad spend of around £3,500/day (normal for us).
27th October – ad spend £900 total.

Nothing has changed on our side. Budgets are high, CPCs haven’t changed, no day-parting in place. Yet every single campaign across the board is just ceasing to display after 12pm UK time.
This is costing us tens of thousands per day in lost sales.
We’ve escalated this with our Strategic Account Services Program Manager but, to be frank, this is an absolute joke and sellers deserve transparency.
To make things worse, on Saturday night our payments were suddenly ceased with no true explanation other than “it could possibly be to do with your metrics.” Our metrics are perfect. Account Health score is 1000/1000, all thresholds well above requirements. This has since been sorted out, but it does not help your mental health when you’ve got staff wages, bills, and commitments that rely on cash flow being consistent and predictable. I can also see many other sellers being affected by this as well.
We turn over 8 figures annually on this platform, but over the last year it has become an absolute nightmare to deal with. How are businesses expected to operate, forecast, and grow when things like this are literally occurring every single day?
The introduction of AI into this business has been its downfall. Amazon laid off around 30,000 staff recently, and it’s painfully obvious that listing takedowns, account flags, and even major business-impacting decisions are no longer human reviewed, they are AI-driven, blunt, and error-prone. That leaves sellers completely exposed, with no proper escalation path or human oversight. We usually tend to have to 'Fight AI with AI'
This needs to be acknowledged publicly and resolved. Sellers cannot keep footing the bill for systemic issues like this.

I don't know the answer, but I sense something strange happeing with Amazon Ads recently. Through October we have seen a significant drop in ad performance, with spend about the same, but sales well down.
I have seen other posts here where people report a recent, significant drop in ROAS, so we are not alone in this.
Your's appears to be a different issue, but another sign that all is not well with Amazon Ads.

We are experiencing the same. A sudden drop in perfomance which started around the 12-16th October for no reason. Amazon reported delays in sales and ads dataon the dashboard. This has since gone, but sales are still not right. We seem to have days where sales go back to normal levels but then next day only get half of the expected sales.
Until sales we doing well and increasing slowly. TACOs was aroujnd 9%, now its 15% with half the sales.
We seem to have one good say then one bad day.
PPC is runnign exactly the same with no changes. I think this is an error somewhere with Amazons data or the actual running of Ads.
I hope it is rectified, is anyone seeing this trend?

This is strange but has your invoice amount been changed, example if you are invoiced at 2000gbp could it be the time they are billing you and the delay in payment processing?
Secondly thats a big ad spend - out of interest what kind of roas are you getting on this.

That’s true, Amazon ads performance has dropped significantly recently. Our sales dropped but still we are being charged a hefty amount daily. ROAS has been decreased from 5-6 to 1.
This has to be fixed really soon, otherwise many businesses on this platform will fall into losses real quick. Frontline support agents give automated replies, which are not helpful.

Hello @Seller_YtTmeyLtPiwzc,
I have checked and was told that our internal team has made necessary changes and the budget restriction is now removed and your campaign budgets are spending normally now.
Can you please confirm?
Regards, Spencer

I had the same things almost 2 years ago. Still spent the same amount of money and sales dropped. To be honest i do not thing amazons ads are fair. each time i check the ads something new. Them made the way you need a Phd in amazons ads to understand it. What we spend on amazon does not bring a revenue so i am thinking of stopping it completely

Wow £3,500 per day. Fair play! Inspiration to us smaller fish to get there one day!

Jesus, I thought £5 a day was pushing it for us.

It might be the same family of issue as another case I saw. In that one, the seller-side settings looked normal, but actual ad behaviour did not match until an internal restriction was removed. Yours may be billing/reporting rather than delivery, so I would not assume the exact same cause. But both cases point to the same wider problem: the seller cannot properly audit what happened from Amazon’s own visible data.
