Why has Amazon enabled PAN EU on my account without my permission?
I discovered this by chance today.
I got rid of PAN EU years ago when it just was not worth the hassle of all the VAT / Tax implications of holding stock in other countries.
I only do remote fulfilment and want to keep it that way.
Today I discovered in the Fulfilment by Amazon settings page that France, Netherlands, Germany, Spain and Italy were enabled.
What is going on. I disabled it so am hoping no stock has already been shipped abroad!
Does anyone else have this? To check you have to scroll to the bottom of the page. It is no longer in the Cross-Border Fulfilment Settings section.
In that section it does say "Where you have a VAT number, we will automatically enable inventory storage."
This however does not address the issue of having to register for VAT in all the other countries.

I understand you've enabled the Remote Fulfillment option for your account.
The Remote Fulfillment program allows inventory to be moved between different countries and fulfillment centers. I recommend reviewing the following help pages to better understand how it works:
