Could someone explain the difference in Royal Mail labels to me?
Evening Folks,
Appreciate may not be the correct place to ask such a question but im not sure where else to ask!
I’m a new Click & Drop user here and I’ve just bought postage online, Royal Mail 24 service, and the label has a QR code type square on it, and the words “Royal Mail 24”.
However, when i look at parcels i have received, and some images online, the labels have “Royal Mail Tracked 24” on them, and they have both a barcode and the QR code. For example - https://tamebay.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Example-of-new-Royal-Mail-barcoded-label.png
Could someone explain why my label does not have the barcode and the word “Tracked” on it?
Kind Regards

Royal Mail 24 and Royal Mail Tracked 24 are 2 different services.
RM24 has a code that is scanned on delivery so only offers delivery confirmation.
RM Tracked 24 is a fully tracked service that is scanned at several points on its journey and costs more.
You have to ask for the Tracked option to be added to your account to use it.

Thanks for the replies.
@Everybody_Has_One - do you know approximately the discounts on those prices for business customers?
I ask as im in a bit of a clumsy situation where i am attempting to do SFP, but given my items are low value and all go as Large Letters (as opposed to Parcels), the costs of Tracked 24/48 or equivalent don’t make it economically viable. If Amazon accepted standard Royal Mail 24/48 (not Tracked versions), it would be a totally different story for me at least!
I have enquired about Amazon Shipping but i read on these forums that they recently rolled up their Large Letter category into the Parcel category, making it uneconmical once again.

i use click and drop
you have 7 or 8 different ways to send just look at the list when your doing your next one
it all depends on what you want to spend on each shipment and how you want it sent
the extra qc/barcode is for signed for or its also a custom note if your sending abroad

@jemimaone a messy topic for replying… there are so many variants / different sellers have different set up’s with the RM… It’s all about fine tuning your requirements directly with the RM
