How do I separate a variation?

Hi everyone,

I hope all are well.

I have a listing that I am the brand registered representative for and which I sell under. What I am trying to do is separate the listing, meaning have one listing for one product and another listing for the other, they both come in different sizes.

I am trying to do this because when they were separate, the sales were a lot better than they are now.

I can’t do anything through Manage Inventory > Edit > Variations, it doesn’t show anything and says “variations are not available for this category”?! and I have also reached out to seller support who keep saying that I can’t separate them because “Amazon retail” owns the listing.

Please could someone assist.

Thank you.

How do I separate child ASINs into individual ASINs?

  1. Delete the child item (removes its relationship to the parent). You may need to wait 24 hours before you can re-use your SKU.
  2. Re-add the SKU but do not include/fill in any of the Variation fields.
  3. Validate and upload the completed inventory template.

Not sure if anyone knows of another way …

The easiest way to do it, is to use file uploads.
Go to the variation wizard and generate a file.
Then for the SKU that you want to remove, use the option “Delete” within the file.
Upload the file and then recreate a new SKU.
I would suggest that if you currently have inventory at FBA, you wait until it’s clear.

Hi everyone.
I have similar question. My variation has almost 700 SKU. I need to separate few SKU from this variation and I would like to add it to another variation.
BUT!!!
I do not want to delete this SKU because of reviews. If I will delete some SKU I will also delete reviews that are attached to this SKU.
Has someone good soliution to do it?

ps. I do not want to remove Parent to ungrupe this variation also.
