POOR SALES BECOMING A TREND NOT A BLIP

We have been pro sellers on Amazon.co.uk since 2010. Have always been FBA and steady and reliable sales. We endured post Credit Crunch, Brexit and Covid. This year since late Spring the wheels have fallen off.

Some days we sell hundreds the next week literally nothing.

We've across our metrics. Everything is showing ok. Sessions are steady across the whole year.Even compared to 2024.

In our 15 year history on Amazon we've never seen things this erratic and subdued for so long.

Our only conclusion is customers are off platform. Looking at Temu and Shein instead. Scratching around for bargains and used items.

How are other sellers fairing? Interested to hear your experiences, similar or contrary it helps to build a picture.

It is not just a problem to Amazon. Retail is generally down as the pubic prioritise other areas as money is tight. We are both e-tail and (predominately) retail and there is no consistency at all. Some days can be very busy, others very little or nothing. I cannot see that changing any time soon I'm afraid. All the best.

It is a particularly tough time economically, and no one or platform is exempt. People are being cautious with whatever money they have to spend.

Honestly I hate selling on Amazon, I hate its systems, its not support team, the fact that you are meant to be the expert on all things Amazon from systems to its rules, regulations, error codes - the fact that customers in the main are rude and entitled, and blind apparently that they do not look at the details right in the title, photo and first bullet point. The fact that AtoZ just leads to fraudulent claims being given left right and centre, unless of court you hand delivered, got a signature and a selfie with the customer and the item purchased.

However it does give me a reasonable amount of sales, more than Ebay and NOTHS.

That said I am hating it so much, its too stressful that I am at the point of shutting up shop and getting a 9to5 again.

we do have been here since 2010. until covid we where doing great sales. One year we got a letter saying well done, you are in Amazons top 10 for sales.

since covid its been a decline , the last 3 years have slowly decreased. last year was down on previous year and shopping started properly a week in to december when usually it was late october. This year its a little down again on last year but following the same pattern. late shopping.

We have suspended all advertising on amazon. it never was financially worth it, the extra sales profits was just swallowed up with add fees which is fine if your trying to get your product higher ranking with reviews but while sales are poor its not justified..

im sure Amazon are really down also.

its the economy. Thank the labour government for this.

We need to try ride the storm i think which is not the best.

Same here. I started selling on Amazon when it began overtaking eBay, and I’ve watched eBay decline dramatically within just a few years. Over the past two years, my Amazon sales have also been falling. January 2026 is even worse than the already weak January 2025.

It increasingly looks like this downward trend will continue. Consumers are moving towards Chinese marketplaces, while using Amazon mainly for branded products that are cheaper than UK supermarket prices.

On top of that, Amazon advertising is no longer worth it — ad spend often exceeds the value of the sales it generates. Amazon has opened its platform to millions of Chinese sellers who are willing to operate on margins of less than a pound per item. In the process, they have effectively pushed out UK-based sellers who try to follow regulations, pay wages, and ultimately provide higher-quality, compliant products.

We are down 55% on same period last year. EBay sales down 30%. People just aren’t spending it’s that simple. They are spending on family holidays and going out rather than non essential items like we sell
