WHICH BUSINESS CATEGORY IS SUITABLE FOR INDIVIDUAL FROM MALAYSIA

Hi,

Sorry if im distrubing you guys.

Im new in selling products to amazon.com and europe. Im from malaysia.

I just want to ask either in here got malaysian seller in individual? May i know what type of business category that you choose when you register in amazon.co.uk?

Because i got an email that im wrongly choose for business category, currently i choose under "None, im an individual"

Then they have only for option State-Owned Business, Publicly-Listed Business, Privately-Owned Business & Charity.

Did you know which category that suitable for me? Because i dont think that option is related with individual like me. If for those who have an expirience about this please help me to share. Thank you & Have a good day 😊

You have to be a privately owned business if you're a non-UK resident. An individual cant sell new goods and isnt for people who are buying and selling for profit.

Are you planning to do FBA?

Individual account is ONLY for selling off ones own personal second-hand items. You need to have a BUSINESS seller account as sole-trader/ptivately owned business, if it is just you.

If you plan to use FBA to store goods in UK you will also need to be VAT registered here.

You are not able to sell on Amazon internationally as a private individual, it sounds to me like you should be Privately-owned business from the options you state.

Please also note that as you outside of the UK you will also need to register for VAT with HMRC here in the UK before you commence selling.
