Seeking Advice: Finding Profitable Products for my Amazon Store
Hi,
I'm currently looking for my first product to sell on my Amazon store. Whenever I come across a product on Amazon, let's say it's selling for £15, but when I search for a wholesaler, I find it for £10. It seems like a total loss to choose a product with such a high price difference. I'm feeling quite confused about selecting a product and finding a wholesaler. Can anyone offer some guidance or suggest a built-in tool to help find a winning product?

There is no magic tool to identify "winning" products for you - you will have to do your research as we all had to.

This is just the start of your worrys! Just wait until you find that one product, get your stock in and then watch the price crash and wipe out any profit you thought you'd get!

Make a proper research about the "wholesalers" some of them are just a basic retailer or dropshipper, check the VAT number, company reg number etc, and walk in to local wholesalers and cash and carry, build a relationship with them. Don't even think about to compete with the big 50+years established retail businesses whos are can buy stocks extremely cheap with huge capital. Price war is present and need to calculate with it. Not easy business model, and full of stress and frustration. Keepa and SAS can help to analyse the products profitability but not for research.

You could try selling a book called "How to Earn A Living Selling on Amazon". Put it in the fiction section and you'll be rolling in it in no time.

Sell what your interested in. Amazon can be a pain! Might be worth selling on the 'other' selling platform. For example I sell car related stuff as thats my background. so I sell new stuff on Amazon and 2nd hand stuff on the 'other' platform. I go to car boots / markets etc, I spent £100 at the car boot on used tools, tested them, cleaned them and painted them if needed, now that 100 will turn into 400. Then I buy new products to sell here. I don't FBA i like to be in control of my stock, as others have said its all about research, I mean there is no point selling phone cases every man and his dog sell them. Good luck ;-)
