You need to refund the customer and then contact Royal Mail stating that it has not been received by you. Ultimately you may have to claim for loss.
Hi I would suggest that you firstly check the Royal Mail tracking as you should be able to enter the postcode (either the customers or your own) to confirm exactly were it was delivered. If this cannot be determined from the tracking page I would suggest you contact the Royal Mail by phone before making any refund, and ask them to confirm where the item was delivered, as the Cambridge DO would not be delivering back to you it would be the Home Counties North MC and would assume that it was delivered to its intended destination.
We have exactly the same problem, Royal Mail tracking stated delivered but we never received the package. I'm hoping the old Ebay scam of changing the delivery address isn't spreading to Amazon. You may want to read an article which explains it. Do a google search for "Guarian royal mail ebay return scam."
We're currently not refunding the customer but a trip to your sorting office in town may help.
