What happens if I die?
I am a sole trader, If I die am I able to pass my amazon shop/ business onto a relative or somebody?
I know this seems morbid but its a good business and seems a waste if it just be closed down?
Anyone can just die at anytime really. Have you made plans for your business if you die?

That is a very good question. If you are running a business that others depend upon (either for their jobs or income (e.g. family) it is important to have a continuity plan should you die or even just become incapacitated/unable to work.
If you have no-one depending on you and no-one to leave it to then obviously it is up to you.

Some say once you’re gone you’re gone forever
And some say you’re gonna come back
Some say you rest in the arms of the Saviour
If in sinful ways you lack
Some say that they’re comin’ back in a garden
Bunch of carrots and little sweet peas
I think I’ll just let the mystery be

Hi Emily
You being a zombie, I thought you were already dead!

You will need your Holiday Settings turned on for a very very long time. I doubt Amazon allow any sort of account transfer

If you die you won’t have to worry about it

You could change the business to a partnership and have them as a named person on your account maybe?

An excellent thought provoking post Emily!
I have business related details in my will but they are nowhere near sufficient for someone to be able to come in and either wind up the business or take it on.
I need to get back on that because as you rightly say …“anyone can die at any time” although I’d like to think that I will not die at any time. I will die when it causes the most inconvenience for the largest number of people hahaha "A pain in the a** in life and a bigger pain in the a** in death woop woop
Happy Friday lovely people

Yes, updating your Seller Account’s ownership is nothing difficult, as long as it’s within family and therefore Amazon will be able to see a valid business reason.
This is one of the rare cases in which transferring accounts is acceptable.
But you should make sure that someone else knows the login details and is able to manage an Amazon business on their own.

The formal wording for what you’re looking for is ‘Business Continuity Plan’.
Google should give you a lot of helpful links.
In essence you need to think about every aspect of the business you touch and develop a workaround to replace yourself.

Does anyone actually think a small thing like being deceased would stop Amazon from chasing you for an A-Z or a chargeback?? That means nothing to these people!
