Does Amazon collect VAT on our behalf?

Hello Amazon Team

I have a limited liability company incorporated with a UK address but I am not resident in the UK. Therefore, I did not receive a Vat registration until 85k. Amazon said it would collect tax from me. I paid the VAT calculated by Amazon. then my sales continued. What I want to learn is whether I should get vat registration or whether Amazon will collect the tax on my behalf and pay it to HMRC itself.

If you are not resident in UK then you MUST be VAT registered here in UK even if you have registered your business address here - the £90,000 threshold (no longer £85,000) ONLY applies to UK residents, not non-UK.

You really need to contact an accountant / hmrc rather than the advice of people off the internet - as you probably should have done before you started selling
