CE Certified products - Responsible person

Hello, I am selling in the UK only and most of my products are non electrical goods or those that do not require CE certification and therefore no responsible person is required.

We are looking to widen our product range and do more products like torches and other small handheld battery powered devices with the batteries included.

We already sell a torch which is CE certified and we have the documentation for, but it was never a requirement that we sign up for Amazons Responsible Person Service. I have read that regardless of using this service or not, it actually ends on 1st March and sellers need to seek their own responsible person.

My question is, for a CE certified product, is it mandatory that we have a CE certified person set up on the account and are there any other requirements needed other than the CE certification paperwork that we have from our manufacturer?

Would really appreciate any help and guidance on this as a new seller. Providing that I need to get a responsible person set up, would anyone have any recommendations on someone I can use a seller based in the UK please?

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

I am in same situation as you, however currently there is no option to setup your own responsible person on compliance dashboard, the old Amazon responsible person dashboard is deprecated so even if you try to setup your own RP you cant unless you have found it how to do it then please do share.

Hello @Seller_oLpdqkbbe34GN,

This is Sakura from Amazon.

The situation depends on if you want to sell the CE-marked products outside of UK. In this case, per Help Page :

“ …the Market Surveillance Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 requires CE-marked products to have a person or company present in the European Union acting as the point of contact for product compliance (a “Responsible Person”)“

I would recommend you to review resources below that cover the topics of CE marking and Responsible Person. However, if you have any doubts, I would recommend you to check it with a legal advisor.

@Seller_Xz7kH40CDgrNF Here you can find the Responsible Person Dashboard. Do you have access to it ?

Regards,

Sakura
