Customer leaves erroneous review Amazon will not remove, need removal or UK Legal Dept contact details

Hi Amazon,

I have a customer who has placed an order with me and by the looks of it another seller at the same time. Customer has left a 1* negative review on my storefront as he contacted someone regarding an issue on this order who fobbed him off. As I have had no contact with this customer which I have proven to Amazon Support this review needs to be removed.

Seller Support are useless and is the Feedback Manager. I have tried escalating this various times and methods including your Twitter accounts and I keep getting fobbed off by getting the boilerplate reply ‘Use the Feedback Manager’ (which you cannot once the robots decide against you).

Amazon need to remove this false review or provide me the details for your UK Legal Dept. so I can discuss with them Amazon’s policies in regards to baseless defamation.

I honestly don’t think many buyers bother with feedback, some don’t even realise they aren’t buying from Amazon!

Sadly it will not be removed Amazon do not care about you me or any other seller. in the last 2 years I have received 28 negative feedback on Amazon UK 24 of the 28 where for goods sold by other sellers 15 of these buyers when contacted apologised and asked Amazon to remove as they had meant to leave it for other sellers and Amazon still refused.

My understanding is a review supposed to give buyers positive and negatives of the purchase. Not slagging the seller off or ordering the wrong size item and giving a one star review. If you order a 15cm ruler and wanted a 30cm ruler then give a one star review for ordering the wrong size is really not suitable in my opinion.

As a general rule, Amazon does not remove customer feedback even if it is unwarranted or the issue has been resolved.

There are some situations when Amazon may remove or strike-through buyer feedback. In such situations, if your request is granted, the impact of the feedback will be removed from your feedback rating and Order Defect Rate (ODR). Following are the scenarios when Amazon may either remove or strike-through feedback:

Amazon will remove feedback if it determines doing so is necessary because of the following cases:

  • The feedback includes words commonly understood to be obscene or profane.
  • The feedback includes seller-specific, personally identifiable information, including email addresses, full names or telephone numbers.
  • The entire feedback comment is a product review. For example, “The Acme Super-Widget lacks the sharpness and speed of the Acme Ultra Widget”.

However, if the comment contains both a product review and feedback about your service, we will not remove the feedback. For example, “Seller’s delivery service was very slow, and the Acme Super-Widget lacks the sharpness and speed of the Acme Ultra Widget”.

To be fair, I find the seller feedback on the computer confusing and it is easy to accidentally put it for the wrong seller. You could request their removal & send them a follow up message stating why you’re asking but replying is the best bet really. I can’t say customers take notice of seller feedback before purchasing unless it’s drastically low

We had a negative feedback review from a customer 2 days after we dispatched their order (of a badge) this was their review:

‘Informed product was dispatched. Never arrived. Informed it was running late. Never arrived. Eventually informed that the machine was broken and they could not make the product. Needless to say, Never arrived! Eventually got refund. Why say that it has been dispatched when this was obviously a lie? Avoid this trader like the plague. Trust me = it will never arrive!’

We’ve been in touch with Amazon who can’t / won’t do anything and the customer won’t respond to any of our messages. It’s clearly for a different item, we’ve never been in touch with them prior to this, our machines are working fine, item was dispatched next day and Amazon can see a refund has never been sent either!

Since she was alerted to being discussed, she asked me to clarify that her case is not over yet and the apology was only one of the agreed remedies for her UK High Court case, which she won. Whilst there are no legal means how to obtain a reinstatement, she spent the past several years doing everything she could to restore her relations with Amazon and to prevent her matter from happening again. She is hoping to be able to participate on the forum soon.

My understanding is a review supposed to give buyers positive and negatives of the purchase. Not slagging the seller off or ordering the wrong size item and giving a one star review. If you order a 15cm ruler and wanted a 30cm ruler then give a one star review for ordering the wrong size is really not suitable in my opinion.
