Can I Sell Boats and Yachts on Amazon?

Title: Exploring Opportunities: Can I Sell Boats and Yachts on Amazon?

Hello Amazon Sellers Community,

I hope this message finds you all well! I'm eager to engage in a discussion about the possibilities of selling boats and yachts on the Amazon platform. As we all know, Amazon provides a vast marketplace for various products, but I'm curious about the specifics and guidelines for listing high-value items like boats and yachts, particularly those valued under $100 million.

If anyone has experience or insights into navigating this niche, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Are there specific categories to consider, documentation requirements, or any tips for a smooth listing process? Sharing your experiences could greatly benefit those of us looking to expand our product offerings in the marine industry.

Additionally, if there have been any recent updates or changes to Amazon's policies regarding the sale of such items, it would be valuable information to be aware of.

Let's pool our collective knowledge and help each other navigate the potential opportunities in selling boats and yachts on Amazon. Looking forward to hearing your experiences and insights!

Best regards,

if you are on the Professional Selling Plan, I don't think there is a price limit on listings, but I just don't think its a product people shop on amazon for. I certainly can't find any listings above some more premium dinghys

These are a purchase of the mega rich. They would I imagine in some cases require purchasing checks above and beyond what amazon can offer.

And that's not even getting into amazons A-Z guarantees. What if a customer claims item not delivered?

That's not to say you shouldn't try - but I honestly don't think people are searching for multi million dollar anythings on amazon.

I''m with above reply - I really do not think Amazon is the place for you, despite the desire to expand, and doubt if anyone looking for a boat or yacht would look on Amazon ! - and the biggest problem would be the way that Amazon handle returns/replacements/refunds etc. You wouldn't want them to automatically refund an expensive item, just because the buyer states 'Not as described' or some other spurious reason ! - and Amazon DO refund at the drop of a hat, and nearly always to the detriment of the seller - far too risky.

Just the fact that you have posted on this forum means you have a seller account already - do you already sell on here ? - parts/sundries etc ?

I'll probably get lambasted for using incorrect nautical terms, but the answer would appear to be no. They explicitly prohibit the sale of cars, but i couldn't easily find the policy on boats or yachts.

They do allow the sale of dinghies, row boats and outboard motors, but i can't see any listings where you can buy a boat with the motor attached. I would assume that's not due to a gap in the market but to a policy i couldn't find.

As to selling things like yachts, there is a maximum allowable price on Amazon UK of £210,000. Even if yachts were allowed, i'm not sure how many potential buyers there are for a £210,000 yacht that they effectively buy sight unseen.
