Absolutely sick of these bots making changes

These BOTS are making life a misery for us sellers.
One of our best sellers,an Amazons Choice & high BSR in its cat,had its category changed couple of weeks ago & sales have dropped to zero.I believe the BOT picked up a word in the title & moved the asin to a completely unrelated cat.
SS are as usual useless quoting "better experience for the buyer blah blah .
Totally P***ed Off with them!
Need a rant :joy::disappointed_relieved:

Same happening to me, although not as extreme

Its picking up on the word glass in my bullet points and moving greeting cards (that happen to have a wine glass/champagne flute or something similar on them) and deciding they are now in fact drinking glasses

I tried opening a case with SS, who told me they were a drinking glass…

Like to see you drink wine from a birthday card!

So it seems we now can’t even describe the item we are selling in the description- going to have to leave everything at “greeting card” and hope they don’t think its a car…

I get items moved all over the place by the Bots. I have items in so many irrelevant categories now.

As Dedez says they pick up on words in the listing and move them around because they think we are too stupid to put them in the correct category in the first place. I get a small minority of products are incorrectly set up in the first place but most are not.

On top of this I have had loads this week with data removed from listings so they have all went suppressed. Took me almost several hours to correct them…if only they could just leave things along I would have a much easier life!

This is what happens when you let machines ‘think’ for themselves.:robot::thinking:

Amazon’s dependency on bots is depressing.
I daresay the site would collapse without them, but there has to be a better way of managing the catalogue…

To be honest the system requires human intervention at some point. The bots are needed to scroll through all the asin’s on here and should be used to flag erroneous ones this should then be overseen by a human. Alas this costs aazon and it much easier just to mess with someones livlihood knowing full well they will put stuff back to the correct category and waste hours of work time doing it not to mention hours of ss copying and pasting replies.

We’ve had Stainless Steel Rivets moved to “Blinds” because they were “Blind” Rivets… So we’re obviously meant for covering windows?

But a variation on the exact same item, made of Aluminium, was moved to “Headphones” because… ? … (Never actually figured that one out)

It’s bad enough when they screw things up by mistake, or when they don’t think through consequences of policies and changes, but recently they seem to be actively trying to cause as much chaos as possible.

The whole catalogue needs a reset really.
Or they just need to overwrite everything with the data directly from GS1, ISBN, NKOTB, Wikipedia, the CBeebies website (or anywhere that’s just not whatever is currently in the Amazon catalogue).

I’m with Happy2help.

I think a lot of toys would be other categories and wouldn’t have the required safety certificates etc, or being sold in categories with cheaper fees

But I think someone human with half a brain cell should be double checking the bots, or there should be somewhere we can forward a report to to ask said half brain celled human to check it over and override the bot if they are wrong

It’s been happening since January for me. I actually sell toys that, strangely enough, I’d like to have in the Toys category - instead my best selling listings have been moved to other, inappropriate categories - ‘Homes & Kitchen’ and ‘Pet Supplies’ .

I’ve got a set of animal characters that have been put under Pets & Supplies - it’s got a picture of a cat character, so, of course, has been put under ‘Dogs’!

SS utterly hopeless at getting it corrected, despite the images, text and reviews all clearly talking about it being a toy, so I’m now down to next to no sales of what was a really strong seller. Going to try the Managing Director email route next week to see if that can get it sorted.

We have a children’s craft kit that can be used to make a belt. It has just been suppressed because it is clothing and needs size and colour attributes - which don’t exist. Have sent 22 messages so far trying to explain the issue to seller support but just get the same replies in a circle :angry::angry:
