Amazon does not accept UPC code purchased from GS1
We are trying to list our own brand item using a UPC code that was legitimately purchased from GS1. However, Amazon keeps rejecting it.
We have already opened a case (ID: 18015560291) and provided the required documentation multiple times, including:
The GS1 certificate, GS1 invoice, Screenshot of the UPC from the GS1 database, Screenshot of the exact error message from Amazon.
Despite this, every response from Amazon simply repeats the request: "Based on the current information, we cannot determine the nature of the problem. In order to address your issue, provide us the GS1 certificate and proof of affiliation," which we have already submitted several times.
This case has gone through at least a few different representatives, and we are getting nowhere. It's extremely frustrating and disappointing, especially given that we are using official GS1 codes.

Are you saying that you're trying to add a product, but Amazon won't accept the UPC code? If so, try scanning the barcode with your smartphone to confirm that it does not link to an existing product listing owned by someone else.
If instead you're getting “barcode cannot be scanned” errors at the warehouse, there are several threads about this that remain unresolved. Here's one example.

What does the GS1 database say?
Btw. each UPC from GS1 can be used ONLY ONCE for creating a listing. If you use a code today, you can NOT use the same code tomorrow in case you deleted your first listing.

Hello @Seller_c3edQ4aTtFaqo,
Thanks for reaching out. Have you tried to add your product again with our UPC? It can take up to 2 weeks for the UPC to come across to Amazon as valid and will reset each time you make a change on the GS1 website. Please let me know if you are still having issues so I can look into this further.
Regards,
Michelle
