I wouldn't be surprised if the Customer was asking for a VAT *invoice* and the Customer Services Agent messed up.
You should get in touch with the Buyer and clarify what they were asking for and why.
Just checking, but was this an international order to an EU country?

They may be on a BFPO address in which case they can have it VAT free, you then need to account for this in your book keeping.

Hi can you advise what you did to resolve this, I had one last night. I checked on amazon website and it states that if the invoice is generated by Amazon then Amazon should generate the refund for Market place sellers. I have told the customer to contact Amazon
