100 units to ungate for most brands under Beauty & Personal care?

I'm a new seller. I got ungated in Beauty & Personal Care so I thought I was ready to sell in that category. However, when I go to list many different beauty brands, they are all gated and require either 10 or 100 units to ungate individually. Today, I had products for seven different brands to sell on Amazon, but I can't sell any of them. What is the purpose of getting approved to sell in Beauty if almost all brands are gated? As a new seller, how am I supposed to acquire 100 units of almost all the brands?

STOP!!!! Being ungated by Amazon is not the ONLY necessary permission you need to sell on Amazon. My guess is that you have not watched any videos in the Amazon University. These are FREE videos that will give you the education to sell on Amazon BEFORE you invest in any product!!! If you even attempt to sell a BRAND on Amazon without the legal written authorization from the BRAND (not supplier) the BRAND giving you authorization to distribute/sell that BRAND on Amazon, Amazon will deactivate your account and you will NEVER be allowed to sell on Amazon again. Being ungated by Amazon does not mean you are authorized to sell that BRAND.

Another question....Where are you getting the product? Are you getting it from a RETAIL source or a WHOLESALE source? Do you have an INVOICE or a RECEIPT from the purchase of that product????

These are very important questions.......

You need commercial invoices from BRAND APPROVED wholesale distributors and a BRAND LOA authorizing you to retail for them on Amazon.

I would suspect that with most brands, 100 is the low end of the MOQ, so getting 100 units should not be an issue; in fact, not surprised if you have to meet an MOQ of 250-500 for many of the lower priced items.

Even if the MOQ from your authorized wholesale distributor is lower, unless it's a really pricey item, 100 units should not be a big deal.

Hello @Seller_6B5I1Wxd8oYve,

First off welcome to Amazon. You may find the New Seller Group helpful. It's a place where you and other new sellers can ask questions, help each other, get help from Amazon moderators and tenured sellers.

Regarding the approval to list in Health and Beauty, that just approves you for the category. Many brands require that you provided invoices from their authorized distributors and a letter of authorization from the brand directly to list their products. This ensures that the products are authentic and to protect the brand. You may want to review this post created by @Glenn_Amazon helpful.

As many of the sellers have stated, you may want to review more in Seller University before listing any items on the site. Reading through the forums here can also provide you with a lot of useful information.

I hope this information is helpful! Please feel free to let me know if you have any other questions.

Regards,

Michelle
