Top ranking variation replaced by another variation overnight
Hi All,
Is anyone else here facing this strange mystery situation?
We have a product with 8 different pack size variation where a particular pack size variation was consistently ranking at number 1 for over 4 years and all of a sudden (literally overnight) that variation has been replaced by another pack size variation of the same product. And the original child ASIN which had been ranking on top is not ranking even on top 10 pages of search result now.
While i am okay knowing that its only replaced by another child ASIN of the same product but its still a huge issue, because the difference in sales between these 2 child ASINs was huge and so that we hold a lot of stock for the previously top ranking ASIN and very little stock of the child ASIN which is ranking now. And also the profit margin is lower for the newly ranking ASIN compared to the previous one.
While its still being indexed according to the index checker tools but when you search with usual keywords, i cant find it anywhere on the top 10 pages.
Any one else in the same boat?

I wanted to stop by and reach out to you regarding your concern on your variations.
I didn't see a Selling Partner Support case regarding this issue filed. If you have one, please share with us so we can begin investigating.
If you have not filed a case, I would suggest reaching out to them first so they can begin troubleshooting. Please provide them with as much detail as possible such as:
- ASIN that was ranked #1 before
- ASIN that is not appearing in the top ranks
- Any troubleshooting or changes you have tried (keyword changes etc...)
- Any screenshots that might be relevant
- Any additional insights that will help Selling Partner Support with their investigation
Feel free to post the CASE ID in this discussion once you have contacted support so we can follow the case along to the conclusion.
