Brand Registry And Pending Trademark
I can apply for a trademark myself through the .gov website or go through a law firm through the Amazon Accelerator program. It seems that through the Accelerator programme, you can apply for brand registry once your trade mark application is in PENDING. This takes about 10 days, and then up to 12 weeks for full approval.
What I would like to know is that if I applied for the trademark myself through the .gov website (and saving myself £200 plus VAT in the process by not using a Accelerator approved law firm) will Amazon still accept the pending trade mark and push it through on the 10 day ish time scale, or will I have to wait for for full approval, thereby delaying it for 10 more weeks.
In a nutshell, if I don't use an Amazon approved "partner" are the brand registry approval time scales the same. I can't seem to get a straight answer form Amazon or the law firms!

Hey Bud, As far as I understand from speaking to an amazon approved law firm.. no you can't, using their affiliated law firms mark it on their end that the trademark is pending and Amazon then complete their own checks.
although the way this was worded to me came across pretty guarded and lawyer like so I wasn't dead certain this was the answer.
Also after speaking to 4-5 of the amazon accelerator law firms prices range from roughly £600 inc vat to £2000 for a UK trademark... so don't just contact one.
Hope this helps

I have few brands on Amazon, and I believe Amazon won't register the brand in PENDING state.

yes amazon will allow you to sell with a pending trademark. Do it yourself, very simple and the cheapest option.

Hi
I had a pending trademark after submitting my own application direct to the IPO.gov website, Brand Registry was approved while in Pending status. So you should be good to do it yourself with the same time scales as a "partner" method. You will get a pre assessment report from the IPO advising if they think your trademark may be objected to and you can then decide if you wish to proceed, they may also refuse at that stage if they think it's too close to something else already registered (although you will have already paid the non refundable fee ) so worth checking yourself if there is something similar already registered
