It does get better. Previously, securing a local warehouse for 26 pallets cost $550-$600 for a full truckload. However, the same shipment with inventory placement now amounts to $5500. Moreover, there are no local warehouses or options in neighboring states. As we are based in Illinois, Amazon is requesting products to be shipped to California. If I select California as my base, I am directed to a warehouse in North Carolina. Obviously, the system is totally rigged. I'm forced to ship products across the county and so is everyone else so Amazon will pocket massive shipping and inbound fees regardless of your location.
These changes could potentially have a devastating impact on FBA sellers.

CONFIRMED. Shipping costs have more than doubled!

Yikes! I just checked mine and WOW! Same thing. So what's the deal? We get charged that upfront and then they still charge extra per unit sold? Or is that total fee?

This is going to result in massive people leaving FBA. No reason to continue to do it as shipping costs have now doubled/tripled.

I found this out today and I was only shipping 4 large boxes. Double the price. Pulled the product and listed FBM. I am done with FBA at that price.

Its definetly going to reduce the products offered by FBA. Only the products with the highest margins will be viable.

Check out some of the other threads, there has never been a new Amazon fee rollout this high, ever. They wouldn’t do this without it being by intent to drastically drive a change. This isn’t just a profit grab, this is being done for another reason, likely in regards to the lawsuit with the FTC. They want sellers on MFN seller fulfilled prime, because we do it better than they can and they want the brands selling directly via FBA.

I wonder if the Chinese sellers have to pay this fee.

This new inbound placement fee is affecting the US sellers, but not the Chinese sellers. See the link below. Amazon gives Chinses sellers an option to send a shipment to one location and pay a zero placement fee. They just pay $226.29 for shipping per pallet.

It seems like Amazon is pushing for using Amazon's AWD service which on paper looks very attractive to me. No placement fees if you use AWD.
