Since 6th April I have purchased 4 x 1st Class Signed For LL through Amazon Buy Shipping and all are classed as tracked shipments not invalid. All have been scanned at the PO and again on delivery.

There has been an ‘issue’ with Buy Shipping for some time. You’ll see on the other VTR threads. They’ve admitted it’s a ‘technical glitch’, despite the advice they gave us all at the time to use Buy Shipping.

I re-read the VTR FAQs again. They make absolutely no sense whatsoever and they’re still pushing Buy Shipping -

"You will not be able to confirm delivery of an order using a Royal Mail 24®, Royal Mail 48®, 1st Class, or 2nd Class delivery method unless you provide the parcel ID.

3. Are Royal Mail 1st or 2nd class stamps considered for VTR?

Postage stamps are not a tracked service. If you are delivering your shipments using an untracked delivery method, you are not required to provide us a tracking ID for domestic and cross-border deliveries.

5. What happens if my delivery service provider fails to scan my packages and results in a miss ‘VTR’ for a product?

When using Buy Shipping, the delivery service provider, ship method, and tracking ID are automatically provided by the delivery services provider to Amazon, and all tracking IDs received by Amazon through Buy Shipping are considered valid."

My tracked Specials and Signed for bought via Buy Shipping are all valid for VTR but interestingly I have 2 on the ODTR (and they weren’t late!)

I’ve had this too, it was two x LLs Signed For that went to the same address, they’ve both been flagged as INVALID. I believe this is because the postie didn’t scan the barcode when they were delivered. As they show as still in the system on the RM website, it’s been over four weeks now I put in a claim for both as the tracking shows they haven’t been delivered.

Although I have purchased LL Signed For on Amazon Buy Shipping I use it sparingly such as if there’s an issue with the delivery address. At least that way if the buyer doesn’t get the item through not knowing their own address and leave neg feedback because of theis Amazon will strike it through. These days I use Tracked 24/48 purchased on C&D as a guest and will continue doing so until what is and what isn’t accepted as good VTR is clarified 100 percent.

go to post office and send Royal Mail buy 1st or 2nd …with stamps… and your VTR will be exempt…they wrote to me to tell me this…don’t buy through Amazon…just bog standard post office stand in the queue and all will be well…keep it simple!

Why are they selling the postage if it isn’t valid? It makes no sense at all. They sell it then mark you down absolutely crazy.

I got a feeling Amazon may sort that no valid tracking if you use buy shipping. Currently I’m sending using CRL and suffering from the ones Royal Mail are not scanning. I really do want to use Buy Shipping to avoid this but my main issue is having 2 separate manifests at the end of the day, 1 for Royal Mail CRL and 1 for Amazon buy shipping. It would be a nightmare. Unless I send everything out via the Amazon buy shipping, even for ebay/website orders etc.

Anyone else in this boat? I’m wondering if you can even mix Amazon Buy Shipping items with CRL in the same bags. I get my post checked quite regularly by Royal Mail and reckon they would tear into me doing it this way.

This is concerning as I have purchased all my labels through buy shipping and my rate has dropped lower than what I had before. I can not even open a new case with seller support as there is an error on the help page.
