When i go to Add Product, it allows me to "Sell this product" and add an offer under the existing product WITH a brand name. (There is no Error code popping up) I am new to this and it seems to refer to "Hijacking" throughout the community.
Now I am confused? I thought that Products with brand names do not allow other sellers to add listing.
Example: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DM7P5B4H
If you look up this ASIN in "Add Products" tool, it will allow you to list under it and "Sell this Product" button is available.
So now I tried to sell under an existing Generic listing and getting the Amazon Generic Product policy error code which does not allow to add an offer. Ok great, so I thought, that means i can create a new listing as generic and no one can steal it, and skip the step of creating a useless brand name. However there are many literature which suggests that "Generic" means that the listing can be "Hijacked".
So which way do I go? I want to add a listings and build our store make sure that other sellers cannot hijack it.
Do I go with Generic, Brand Approval, or do full Brand Registry to ensure no one else can add offers?
Last Question the generic product policy: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/G84H3T69ZX762NWT?mons_sel_mkid=amzn1.mp.o.ATVPDKIKX0DER&mons_sel_mcid=amzn1.merchant.o.AOGMOMOMTWHMO&mons_sel_persist=true
does it apply to all product and categories? Or only some products? I want to ensure that the listings I create are owned only by my account. Or else i will have to create a generic brand custom for my company (which as can see above the "Sell this product" button is freely available to anybody).
Our company is funded to start with 100k - 1M+ dollars in amazon products and increase from there and we are scared that the listing will be "Hijacked" by other parties. As you can see we cannot sustain the business long term if our listing becomes "Hijacked"
