covering UPC using sharpie?

hi! I have a small product. 55mmx95mm. The barcode is on the side and I cant just cover it with the fnsku. The item is new. Can I cover the upc barcode with sharpie or what can I do to cover it?

The Amazon Barcodes page only states to 'cover all other visible barcodes' it doesn't state how - so provided you believe the sharpie won't show the barcode over time, you should be OK.

You could I suppose put the product in outer packaging instead.

Personally when I had this issue I just covered the original barcode with a small label.

This way it doesn't look as bad as covering with a sharpie and depending on the packaging type can be removed.
