My account has disappeared
I used to sell on Amazon, but my account has disappeared, and I have had to set up a new one. Does anyone know why this might have happened?

Shouldn’t have set up a new account without Amazon permissions - only allowed one account.

You do know that you need permission from Amazon to set up a second account?
You are normally only allowed one seller account, lifetime, so if you had one previously and have now opened a new one without approaching Amazon first then you may be heading for trouble if/when they discover the fact.
Were there any issues with your old account? Were you suspended or did you simply walk away?
If suspended then the chances of you passing verification this time will be slim.
If you simply walked away from the previous account then I would contact Amazon, explain the situation, and hope that they agree to your new account, or that they find the old account and re instate that, deleting the new one for you.

Amazon has systematically deleted long-dormant accounts - so if yours had been dormant for a lengthy time that might explain its disappearance.
It might be an idea to contact Amazon to exlain the situation and ask their advice. As mentioned they are twitchy about second seller accounts.

I have sold books on the site. The account has been dormant for six months. We did manage to access the account yesterday after a lot of fussing about, but the listing of books sold and still for sale had disappeared. Apparently we still have an account, but with nothing listed. Should I contact Amazon?
