Browse Nodes

Has anyone ever had the experience of saved browse nodes been removed from your starred list. noticed this morning that all but 1 starred browsenode category had been removed. clearly alot of tinkering going on with the system. As some sellers have mentioned on other chats, this may be the reason why sales have dropped on certain products

Saved browse nodes with a star against them are used as shortcuts when listing a product. Amazon frequently move the browse nodes around and when the happens the favourite (starred) browse node is removed from the list

It shouldn't impact any of your existing listings as when Amazon move the browse node your listing is moved automatically.

I don't think it would be a reason for a drop in sales unless Amazon are moving the browse nodes to an innappropiate category.

Tried to chage the ASIN but still appearing in the wrong category. We are brand registered for this ASIN and have tried to change this via brand registry page but keeps coming back stating its in the correct category when its clearly not. What a mess the Catalogue is.

Browse nodes do get removed from time to time. The number of times we have had to update the same information has been frustrating.

Its not just browse nodes that disappear its other things like sizing information and colour etc. Then few years down the line it appears in your missing attributes file. Since November 2022 we have had issues that’s been going round and round in circles they tell us someone is dealing with it and then month or two later they close the case without resolution. We have to then create a new case and start from scratch with the issue. It appears the the data is constantly being updated and missing attributes appear from time to time.

This from my experience happens in 2 ways.

Firstly if the original lister of the item removes the item from their catalogue then the listing removes a lot of vital information such as size, browse nodes, colour etc

Secondly if you list the item and Amazon at some point revoke your permissions to list for that brand then a simple editing of the product can lead it to lose vital information.

I would suggest both of these are bugs which need fixing but it has been this way for many years so I can't see it being fixed quickly
