Selling my own books with individual seller account

I am an author and have opened an individual seller account on Amazon. I want to sell my own books, written by me and published by various publishers on Amazon. Is this possible with an individual seller account or will I need to open a business account? I am having the same problem I have seen people complain about many times before with regards to needing approval to list in my case a book with the Haynes brand. Thank you in advance for any help.

If you are selling your books for profit, then YES, you must have an Amazon BUSINESS seller account - the individual seller account is ONLY for selling off your own, personal second-hand items. You must also be registered with HMRC as self-employed sole-trader. Once you have done that you will need to provide Amazon with your UTR for your seller account to be fully verified. Make sure you read Amazon's Seller University, as there are a LOT of seller metrics, and seller rules to keep, otherwise you risk your account being de-activated. It is not the easiest of platforms to sell on.

@Seller_ZVAz3d5lZuGid you were always pretty hot on this.

Does it still exist where you can sell your own Second Hand goods on amazon? I've had a look and they certainly hide the option if that is the case these days.

I always understand Individual Seller Account to refer to those selling their own used items. You would need a Busienss Seller Account if you are selling books that are New.

If you are referring to the Invidual Selling PLAN, that is different. You can sell with either the Individual or the Professional Selling Plan, the only difference is how you are charged.

Without knowing more abouth the product, its hard to advise why you might be getting issues with trying to list a Haynes book
