Email from Amazon - Approval requirements for products on Existing listings

Hi Everyone,

Please can someone guide me on what to do as I have received this email?

When I add the product using Add catalogue, select New , it allows me create the listing.

Any idea on how to get that approval before the listing is suspended.

I have got the purchase invoices from the supplier and can be uploaded, but I am unable to find a way to do that.

Or

First, the listings will be removed and then I need to apply for the selling again

Help will be much appreciated as I am unable to find Apply to Sell button/link in the existing listing.

Hello,

As part of our ongoing efforts to provide the best possible customer experience, we have implemented additional approval requirements for xxxxxxxxx products.

Effective 2021-11-13, you will need approval to list the affected products. If you do not obtain approval by this date, your listings will be removed. This action does not impact your account health.

How can I reinstate my listings?

To request approval, go to the Approval Required view within the Fix Your Products page in Seller Central and select Request Approval , or see the following: [https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/fixyourproducts]

Alternatively, use the following steps to request approval:

  1. In Seller Central, click on the Inventory menu, and then select Add a Product .
  2. Search for the item you want to sell.
  3. In the search results, click on the Apply to Sell link next to the item.
  4. Click on Request Approval to start the application process.

Please note that in some scenarios we may not accept applications to sell certain products.

Were your listings removed as a result of an error?

If you believe your products have been misclassified within a certain category or sub-category that requires approval, please contact Selling Partner Support with evidence, such as product pictures, to support this claim. Amazon will review your claim and make a final determination that will ensure the best shopping experience for our customers.

What happens if I do not take action?

If no action is taken, the affected listings will not be available for sale in the Amazon store.

If you have FBA inventory associated with the listings above, it will be stranded on 2021-11-13 and subject to required removals if the offers are not reinstated. If you do not obtain approval to sell the affected products or are ineligible to apply, please create a removal order for any inventory currently being stored within our Amazon fulfilment centres. For help creating a removal order, see the following: [https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/200280650]

Thanks in advance.

I’ve had this a few times recently. In each case I just waited for the date, then when the item was suspended there a clickable button next to it. When pressed it let me apply for approval, which in all my cases was granted instantaneously. It then gave me a sell yours button and the item was baack up and running within 15 mins.

I suppose it’s possible that the process might not always run this smoothly so you’re probably wise to have your invoices to hand.

There is another thread this morning where booksellers have received this same email several times, all for different book publishers eg. Puffin, Penguin, Bloomsbury etc.

If they remove all books from these publishers there will be no book category left !

These seem to being sent out in mass today I have had one for a brand I don’t even stock!!

It is a great way for sellers stress levels to remain low in the run up to Christmas.

This week for me I have had to contend with listings becoming corrupted and going supressed, multiple warnings that listings will be removed as the barcode does not match the brand and now emails such as this.

None of this will stop me selling on Amazon and I will work around whatever is put in place even if it means I can’t sell certain lines on Amazon. However all I want to do at the moment is concentrate on selling in the run up to Christmas and not dealing with this nonsense. Some of the stress that Amazon gives sellers is totally stupid and not necessary.

We have just received two of these ‘request approval to sell’ emails for two very large brands within our industry, of which take up a huge proportion of our Amazon business.

The issue we have at the moment is what information do they require? We’ve gone into the ‘Fix your product page’ section and cannot see anything yet relating to the products within the stated brands and the items we have listed are in the 100s so doing it individually will be very time consuming.

As above, one of the dates for approval is today, still cannot see any issues with our listings yet, but its the weekend so I wont get any response from the brand/suppliers, will it be invoices, will it be a letter on headed paper, yet again, utter rubbish from Amazon.

This also doesn’t seem to be just a brand thing, as we received the same email regarding a specific ASIN for a safety document too.

Just tried to list a used CD issued by Warner Archive and got the approval required message. Clicked on the request permission button and was asked to supply an invoice and a bunch of other stuff. As I probably bought the CD retail 20 plus years ago that’s not going to happen.

I have just attempted to list a Studio Canal DVD. Got the the must get approval message. Clicked on the seek approval button and was immediately approved based on my seller history. The CD is still no go however.
