Royal Mail Business Price rise from 31st March 2025

Apologies, but did search and couldn't find any open threads about this.

  • BPL 100g 1st Class Letter cost will increase from £1.34 to £1.70
  • UNG 100g 1st Class Letter cost will increase from £1.24 to £1.67
  • BPL 100g Large Letter from £1.86 to £2.79
  • UNG 100g Large Letter from £1.76 to £2.65
  • BPL 2kg Small Parcel rises from £3.99 to £4.19
  • BPL 2kg Medium Parcel rises from £5.49 to £5.85

Also, there are rises in 'fault charges' as well.

  • Barcode not seen on 1st Class and 2nd Class Letter fine reduces from 10p per item to 3p
  • Barcode not seen on 1st Class and 2nd Class Large Letter fine rises from 10p per item to 14p
  • Sales order underdeclared – UK for 1st Class Letter fine rises from £1.34 per item to £1.70
  • Sales order underdeclared – UK for 1st Class Letter fine unchanged at 85p per item
  • Sales order underdeclared – UK for 1st Class Large Letter fine rises from £2.60 per item to £3.39
  • Sales order underdeclared – UK for 2nd Class Large Letter fine rises from £1.81 per item to £1.91
  • Incorrect Format LL=P 1st Class and 2nd Class on all formats the fine rises from £4.50 to £5.50

Just wondering what everyone's thoughts on the price hikes are?

Obviously, this is a business price hike. Those of you who use Click & Drop as a 'personal' user, or other software to buy unegotiated rates are not affected here. However, I'd expect a price hike for personal customers to be due in April.

You may find for some products that other couriers are cheaper. It is also worth enquiring with Royal Mail about tracked prices on your account as these may work out cheaper especially for parcel products.

Also for anyone who didn't see it hidden away the green surcharge rises from 4p to 5p an item...not much I know but still another price increase.

I suspect that personal/pay as you go prices will go up as well at some point in the near future.
