Amazon has lost my inventory and won't refund it

Hi guys,

I am incredibly upset with Amazon. They lost 24 pcs of my inventory and they will only refund the cost of the product from the supplier without refunding me the cost of the shipping from China.

This is robbery! I am losing money because THEY lost my product. This is not about money now, but it is a matter of principle. Has anyone been in the same situation? Thank you.

Hello @Seller_A5QUfTZ8Bt3hf, unfortunately Amazon does not consider the cost of shipping when calculating reimbursement value. According to the FBA lost and damaged inventory reimbursement policy:

For shipment to Amazon claims, removals claims, and fulfilment centre operations claims that occur before fulfilment, we will reimburse you the sourcing cost of the item. This also covers lost and damage claims during inventory replenishment handled by Amazon or on behalf of Amazon.

For items that were in unsellable condition when lost, damaged or removed from the Amazon fulfilment network, we will reimburse at a reduced estimated cost of the unit, and we may request additional information or documentation to help us determine this adjusted value. If you don’t provide your sourcing cost, we’ll use our own cost estimate for reimbursement calculations, which will be displayed on the same page.

“Sourcing cost” means your cost to source a product from a manufacturer, wholesaler, reseller, or produce the item if you are the manufacturer. It excludes costs such as shipping, handling, customs duties or other costs.

To view or update your costs, go to Manage your sourcing cost.

  1. In the Inventory drop-down menu, select Inventory defect and reimbursement.
  2. From the Inventory defect and reimbursement page, click Manage your sourcing cost in the top right-hand corner to access the cost management interface.
  3. Locate the specific item, FNSKU or ASIN listing, and then select Update in the Action column to open the side panel on the right-hand side of the screen.
  4. Select Upload file or drag and drop the file into the upload area.
  5. In the panel, enter your value in the Sourcing cost field.
  6. Once you’ve finished, click Save changes.
