What to do with out of stock or discontinuing child ASINs?

I have parent ASINs with certain colors/sizes that I have low inventory and intend to sell off and no longer sell them. What is the best practice, or how should I manage these once they are out of stock? I believe this is hurting my "Inventory Performance Score" and now there is this mention of "low inventory fee". What would happen to the reviews associated with them if I deleted my ASINs?

Hi @mesadistribution,

Thanks for the post. Typically, it is a personal preference on how you choose to handle Out of Stock Child ASINs.

If the ASIN has a shared Sales Rank, deleting the child may impact the sales rank if the children were making a significant portion of sales, however if you don't plan to restock these ASINs and discontinue them the rank may change as Sales rank is calculated based on all-time sales of an ASIN/Product where recent sales are weighted more than older sales.

Please note that deleting the ASINs should not impact your product reviews in the variation as long as you don't dismantle the variation. However, deleting the ASINs immediately isn't required. It may be helpful to leave the ASINs out of stock as Buyers may reach out to you to indicate they have interest in those variations and it might show significant enough interest to reevaluate discontinuing the sizes.

Best regards,
