Warning if Buying from Sellers Abroad
If I buy an item from a Seller in China and it is an illegal dangerous item, and could burn my house down, and Amazon know about this, who is liable if FBA (Prime), Amazon or the Seller in China who is virtually impossible to locate, let alone take to Court in China.
So, I bought an item: 206-0861003-9451553 - the item is electrical, and I was too trusting, as saw it arrived and was intact, but did not check if it had a safety Certificate.
It needed fitting so went to fit it (but just after 30 days), and saw no CE label, no UK-CA label, so immediately I knew not legally allowed to be sold in UK or EU.
I messaged the Seller, asked for a Certificate instead, and they said no safety test done, no certificate.
This item is 'branded' but really no brand name on the item, so lots of separate Chinese Sellers all selling the same item, as many brands to mess up Amazon catalogue (like most items now on Amazon).
I contacted Amazon Customer Services, who have the AI generic reply of sorry ver 30 days, bye and cut off the Live Chat (4 times in a row, {moderator edit, inappropriate content}!)
I asked as well what is the address to take Amazon to Court and they refused to inform so what is the address and anyone won over something similar?
So many non-UK Sellers now, so would not want to take any to Court, as Amazon fulfil the order, they really should check if the item is legal to sell and safe in the UK. As Prime, they even should resolve, not just say contact the manufacturer who is unknown as the Seler lies with a registered brand name, but really not that brand on the item.
Cannot do an A-Z Claim as FBA order - only Amazon Court action and what would be the case if a death due to a non legal item?
Should we all check to only buy from Sellers that are easy to take to court?
(Item bought on Gift Voucher, which makes it paid to Amazon, cannot action with a Card Co)

Hello @Seller_IQo80d99W2DzP,
Thank you for your call out.
Without a doubt, I will look into it.
Kind regards,

You obviosuly need to get trading standards involved - but I would go back to Amazon Customer Services and advise as such that you have received (I assume) an electrical item without a UKCA mark so are not willing to use it.
I would raise with trading standards irregardless of the outcome to be honest.
