Delivery Time Keeps Changing?

Hi,

I recently made a post about delivery times, i understand my ODR effects my delivery time, but the delivery times are all over the shop & changing almost everyday ive been keeping an eye on it, explain this…

With SSA turned off, if you ordered from me on Thursday it would say on my items your order will arrive Tues 18th / Weds 19th, then yesterday my orders seemed abit slow so i checked a listing and it would say if you ordered yesterday (friday) your order would arrive Friday 21st - Saturday 22nd, which means the delivery time has been extended again over night and a week for delivery is far too long i delivery much sooner than that, so i go back in to my shipping template and turn SSA back on, so with SSA turned back on yesterday it then said if you ordered yesterday delivery will be on Tuesday / Wednesday, which is perfect. Had a nice day full of orders yesterday, so this morning i have a look and it said if you order today delivery friday 21st / sat 22nd, so it’s been extended again over night, so i turn SSA back off again earlier and it now shows delivery Weds 19th / Thursday 20th.

But it’s literally all over the shop, like today ive turned SSA off again and it’s showing a earlier delivery time 3 days earlier than it was showing yesterday morning when i had SSA turned off, how’s that make sense? My ODR is 92%

The reason this is so annoying is because when Amazon extend the delivery time without my knowledge i end up paying a fortune in ads that do not convert to sales, because a customer will click and see oh it’s going to take a week to come (which is not the case) so will not order and go to the next seller meaning im paying for clicks and losing out on sales because of it, seems very unfair ? Like this morning id paid more in ads than i did in sales and that’s because of the delivery times changing again.

So now i literally have to check every morning to make sure my delivery times are showing a reaonable date and if not keep turning SSA on or off and playing with it.

I can’t see why Amazon can’t just let you choose the days you expect to deliver and if your not hitting the metrics you should be forced to extend the delivery time or risk suspension, it’s not fair keep changing my delivery times without my knowledge and then charging for me ads that do not convert into sales because of it. If i was away on holiday this weekend came back Monday morning and and checked i’d be thinking, why have i spent a fortune on ads and not got that many sales? Then i’d look into it and figure, oh because amazon changed my delivery dates again.

Don’t get me wrong i understand SSA is automated delivery times so it will change based on the carrier etc, but even when i have SSA turned off it changes all the time anyway. It’s really annoying me

Thanks

I’ve given up trying to get my head around it - I have products showing up to 7 days delivery when Amazon is actually making me ship same day on a 24 hour courier. I think the system is the problem, not us sellers.

You are aware that the location of the goods and the location of viewer have a bearing on delivery times as well?
So though you may see that it will take 3 days to get to you, I may see that it’s next day and so on.
Just one view of a product from one location won’t actually tell you anything bar how long they estimate that it will take to get to that location.

In other words, there is no point in worrying about it. It is I’m afraid, what it is.
Who knows what the algorithms behind this are doing?

It wouldn’t be so bad if Amazon sent an email saying ‘Your Delivery Time Has Been Changed’ and give the reason for it, atleast then i’d know, my big issue is the fact that they’ll extend your delivery time without notice and then i’ll pay a fortune in ads that don’t convert to sales because of it. It’s almost like robbery

This is actually a really serious problem for me as a high percentage of my sales are panic buys from men who realise it’s their anniversary soon, I thought that going to SFP would fix this but it hasn’t. I get customers being shown 3 days delivery yet Amazon is making me send next day.

Honestly can’t say I’ve seen this issue. Mind you we’ve never touched SSA and simply have a handling time and a transit time. Having checked out listings, it appears to adhere to those times we’ve set.

I’ve had this problem for ages, and thought it was just me.

It is extremely frustrating as I send everything same day and send everything tracked 24, so saying it takes a week to deliver has resulted in a huge drop in sales.

Yet, at the same time, my advertising costs have significantly gone up, because as you say, customers click on the ad and then see ‘oh, a week to deliver, I’ll get it somewhere else’

There doesn’t seem to be a rhyme or reason to it. So no solutions here, sorry, but I do sympathise.
