Amazon Charge cards

Hi,

I've just been on the phone to Amazon seller support trying to sort an issue regarding invalid charge card method. They have told me that Debit cards are no longer accepted as charge methods and that they only accept credit card now.

Is anyone else aware of this change? I've been using a Mastercard debit for the past 18 months without any issues and not once been are of this change.

I've used a Debit Card for the last 24 years.

The card I used to update with during our last conversation was the same Debit Card.

It's the usual bollox from SS.

Hi Guys,

Could anyone you look into an issue that I am having with regards to an invalid charge card. It's been 6 days now back and forwards with seller support getting nowhere. Just copy and pasted emails constantly getting sent me and no answers.

I've now been told today by seller support that you no longer accept Debit cards has charge cards. I've used my Mastercard debit for the past 18 months without any issues and my card was successfully charged on the 27.07.25 to then a few hours later to log in to a message on my account saying invalid charge card even though the payment has gone through.

Please can you help?

This has been an issue for many years where debit cards weren't specifically mentioned in Amazon's guidance and Support would refer solely to credit cards.

Amazon's guidance has since been updated to specifically refer to debit cards. As for why they stop working sometimes, take a look at the help page:
