Restricted Products Policy Violation

Hello - We have a Restricted Products Policy Violation raised for a new product launch due to the laser in our product. Our laser is not in a class that is restricted for sale on Amazon and we have received approval from the electronics product safety team. I have shared the email communication with the product safety team confirming our product is approved for sale in the US but the violation in account health has not been lifted. Can someone assist?

Have you sent in the paperwork that proves this? If its not on file then it normally won't move forward. We learned this the hard way with our laser pointer attachment for some of our cutting tools. The rep understood it wasn't restricted but the bot just looks to see if the paperwork box is checked. Wasted weeks talking to people only to have it immediately approved once we sent in the forms.

Hi there @Seller_VnQq857ANitA7,

I appreciate you utilizing the Seller Forums!

"We have a Restricted Products Policy Violation raised for a new product launch due to the laser in our product."

I understand one of your products has recently been flagged for violating a restricted products policy.

Amazon established restricted product policies as all sellers must adhere to the applicable local, state, and federal laws. These policies aim to maintain a safe place which offers safe for customers. The sale of illegal, unsafe, or other restricted products listed on these pages, including products available only by prescription, is strictly prohibited.

It is also important to note that, even where a product is listed as an "Example of Permitted Listings," all products and listings must also comply with applicable laws. Certain words or key phrases present in a product detail page can qualify a listing for a violation of a certain restricted product policy. For this, it is highly suggested to look over your product detail pages and ensure there are no words related to a given policy.

"Our laser is not in a class that is restricted for sale on Amazon and we have received approval from the electronics product safety team."

Laser products in hazard classes IIIB and IV are not authorized for sale by the FDA in the United Sates without a variance, which Amazon does not currently support. If your laser product does not have a class, you will need to provide proof of this. If you can get and submit any type of exemption notice, certificate of analysis, or a manufacturer's report. It could be that the absence of a class of the laser is a contributing violating factor.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to further utilize this thread. The forums community and I are here to support you.

All the best,

Stevie
