⭐ Minimize Returns: Image & Detail Page Success Guide
Dear Sellers,
Every product return impacts your bottom line through shipping costs, processing time, and potential inventory depreciation. More importantly, high return rates can affect your account health metrics and seller performance ratings.
High return rates are often a result of customers receiving different items from what they expected. Here's how to prevent this through better images and descriptions:
⭐ Image Tips to Prevent Returns:
- Show accurate size, colour, and scale
- Include clear photos of all important product features
- Don't include accessories not included with the product
- Ensure images match the actual product being shipped
- *Use multiple angles to show product completely
- For clothing, show fit and fabric details clearly
📝 Detail Page Tips to Reduce Returns:
- Write clear, accurate titles without exaggeration
- List exact measurements and specifications
- Highlight any limitations or restrictions
- Be specific about what's included in the package
- Use bullet points to highlight key features
- Clearly state size/fit information if applicable
🚫 Common Return Triggers to Avoid:
- Misleading images showing unincluded items
- Vague or missing product measurements
- Unclear product specifications
- Inaccurate colour representation
Key Point: Accurate product representation helps customers make informed purchase decisions, reducing return rates.

I sell books - the vast majority have already been listed by other sellers.
Its all very well you telling us to provide clear photos and give accurate details about the product but unfortunately Amazon will not allow sellers to make any amendments even when there are clear and obvious errors in the original listing.
Oh and by the way a good way of reducing returns might be for Amazon to make the site less of a scammer's paradise!!!

I don't have problems with my own listings (unless some bot changes the title, brand or description) , I have problems with listings created by others that have the wrong images, wrong dimensions or weight. As I am not the "brand owner", I am not allowed to make corrections (even if the real brand owner doesn't sell on Amazon directly). Therefore, the only thing I can do to avoid returns is not to sell those products on Amazon.

It would help if Amazon bots didnt change bullet points. We have a birthday badge that apparently has a zip fastener!

This is where Amazon are so far removed from what actually goes on with sellers on a daily basis.
If we are not the brand owner and did not create the listing in the first place it is almost impossible to change pictures, descriptions and bullet points
It just means we are either unable to sell these products or accept they will have a higher rate of returns and customer dissatisfaction.

All very simple when a knowledgeable seller creates a listing but what happens when a numpty does it, or when Amazon or a malicious person goes in and messes with it.
The main issue is having a system based on listing to GS1 EANs or GTIN's. if the wrong one is inserted or a branded seller uses the one on the item instead of creating their own.
I've inserted a few examples of the listings we sell that have various problems since we listed them. They've all been reported ages ago with no effect.

It would certainly help if Amazon did not change images and put old out of date or totally incorrect images in the place of the correct ones. I am tired of trying to get them fixed, so much time wasted and the usual response from CS is the Amazon logic (what an oxymoron) selected the image and it is staying. Then of course we get returns as the item received does not match the image which is wrong.

Do you understand how listing products on Amazon works???? You cant just change listings at whim (unless you are brand owner/ only seller), you dont own listings its a catalog system.... on top of which Amazon will randomly change listings to make them utterly misleading and incorrect and not even tell you what they did, leaving sellers to clean up the mess and take the financial fall (as usual)

Another major problem with listing USED books and media on Amazon is one I outlined in this earlier thread:
https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/seller-forums/discussions/t/44d5dc06-0b4f-4612-abe3-9a74ccb9d9d8?
The 'Details' link in the buy box for condition notes hasn't been working for many weeks past. Listing images are also not showing (and never have).
The only way to see the condition details is to check the link to
Other sellers on Amazon New & Used from...
below the buybox and go through the entire list of used offerings.
I doubt most buyers are aware of this and even if they are, the link to 'Other sellers' is also partly broken and doesn't work at all on many listings .
Having to go that convoluted route to see the condition details also completely undermines having ownership of the buybox for 'used'. It can make it worse than useless for items that differ significantly in condition from 'new'.

you only let the brand owner change the images, and they do not do it. They change the packaging but dont update the images. see asin B00L4ACGJ8 for example. Packaging does not look like that any more. I have uploaded the correct image, but amazon has not changed it.
