IOSS - Send DDP or DDU

I’m a UK Based, VAT Registered seller, not registered for IOSS.

We mainly sell via various Marketplaces (UK, DE, FR, IT, ES & NL)

The sales to the EU we get via these marketplace fall under the IOSS system and have the Amazon IOSS VAT identification number supplied.

So with that in mind, we should be able to send via a DDU (Duties Unpaid) mail service.

We used the DDP mail service at the start of Brexit but continued with it once IOSS came in, but i am now thinking i could have moved to DDU as all the tax/duty have been taken care off at order placement.

Our current courier stopped billing us VAT/Duty once we supplied the IOSS number but still referred to the service as a DDP service.

We are looking to change couriers, which prompted this question?

Are you sending your IOSS parcels via a DDU or DDP service?

You need to send with a service that supports IOSS. Technically IOSS is DDP because the taxes have been prepaid, but I wouldn’t expect all couriers to refer to it as such.

Whatever courier you select needs to be able to handle IOSS as not all do I believe.
