IS SELLING ON AMAZON A SCAM!? MAYBE THE WORLD SHOULD KNOW!

Hi

I am so frustrated! I have had what seems like fraudulent activity on my account for months with "other buyers" I think it is one buyer with multiple accounts trying to harm my business and will buy my product and then return it. I have way too much evidence to show that it has to be fraudulent. I am only selling one product as I wanted to see if I could make this a success and if I did so, then would proceed to sell other products.

Anywho, for months I have been trying to report abuse under "another buyer account is attempting to harm my business" but that is not a category. So, when I choose ANY of the categories(which messages will not show which category I have chosen and this needs to be changed for better support) someone will respond or "answer my question/case" by telling me to choose a different category to report the issue. I called and did the same thing. They will direct me to someone else. I am just going around in circles after circles for months and no one will actually look into my account purchases for suspicious activity. And when someone does respond by telling me to go somewhere else to report my case will have been "answered" so no one will look at it again. So who will investigate!? Who will help me? Also, when I report abuse under most abuse categories -- you only get around 500 words or something to use. It's like what!? That is not enough room to input my complaint. AMAZON is a BIG company and with any big company, there are scammers and people trying to harm other people's business. But does Amazon care!? Does their customer service even come close to sufficing or helping the seller's needs!?

SELLING ON AMAZON UP TO THIS POINT HAS FELT LIKE ONE BIG SCAM! The one product I have tried to sell has repetitive fraudulent buyers costing me account health and 100's, filing cases for help has cost me a lot of time, and no one will help me. And if they do investigate it and find it fraudulent, would they even help me set my account health straight? Where it needs to be? From what I hear they will somehow blame it on the seller that it was their fault for potentially having a third party involved at some point or point the finger back at us. THIS IS UNJUSTICE!

You would think with all the money that Amazon makes that they would invest more into helping the sellers with better support and care. And, you would think that they would have one of the best fraudulent or scam detection programs. And that there would be better and quicker investigators. With all the money they are making they should spend more to make our lives easier, not harder. Could someone please explain to me what they are charging us for under the "others" category? Because I just think that is ridiculous for a huge corporation to not list exactly what they are charging their employees.

Frustration is the name of the name here. They don't help you; just give you the runaround.

Selling on Amazon is certainly a scam of numbers. theft in warehouses, cusrtomers scamming for free product. Fees on top of fees.

Yes selling on Amazon is a scam we all buy into until we learn the truth, then we freak out trying to save our businesses.

No product is safe to buy due to Amazon platform being hacked by back end APIs, even 'buy again' results in a fake items shipped to repeat customers.

In my opinion Amazon is the worlds largest counterfeit marketplace, even moreso than Alibaba.

Fingers crossed the next administration will dismantle Amazon and put an end to the non stop flow of counterfeit and unsafe items sold all across Amazon.

I have mixed feelings about what's happening in the marketplace right now. It's not just buyers; sellers also play a big role in the problem. This is why Amazon's implemented so many restrictions, making it tough for honest sellers to thrive.

Take EPN Supplements, for example. They’re pushing supplements that claim to treat issues like erectile dysfunction, ADHD, and even rapid weight loss. They label their products as "Doctor approved," which is pretty concerning, especially since they seem to be slipping through the cracks of Amazon’s oversight.

What’s even sketchier is how they’re manipulating the ranking and review system. They’re allegedly paying customers—particularly women who congregate on UGC (User Generated Content) sites—to leave reviews. If you check out the ASIN B0DF4KVFZR, you’ll notice a pattern: a lot of the reviews come from the females, and if you dig into their profiles, you'll see they’ve reviewed various EPN Supplements products multiple times. That screams "paid reviews" to me.

Another red flag is how the seller brags on social media like X about having the “secret sauce” for success. Honestly, it feels like he’s playing on people’s hopes—especially those looking to better themselves. The problem arises when customers receive these products and find they don’t work. Because dietary supplements can’t be returned on Amazon, buyers are left frustrated and tend to leave 1-star reviews, along withnegative feedback for the seller.

I noticed one ASIN that started off strong with 5-star paid reviews but eventually plummeted to a disappointing 3.1 stars as genuine customer feedback rolled in. It's a classic case of rinse and repeat for these sellers. If you check out this seller's storefront, you’ll see he has a whole lineup of products ready to pull the same stunt.

It's frustrating to see this kind of fraud go unchecked, especially when it impacts honest sellers who are just trying to play by the rules. Amazon really needs to step up and protect buyers, or this cycle is going to keep hurting those who are committed to ethical selling.

Hello @Seller_HZcK2cG5OEZCU,

This is Josh from Amazon. Thank you for contacting our Forums!

I see that you are having issues with a report of abuse, and also, you have questions in regards with charges under "others" category. For those 2 scenarios, have you opened any cases with our Seller Support team yet? If so, please give me the cases ID so I can look further.

I look forward to your answer.

Kind regards,

-Josh

I used to also sell many items on Amazon. Now, with all the fees, Amazon removing listings due to not having a clue how an item works or claiming intellectual property violations on an item that is CLEARLY not counterfeit,Its STILL in the ORIGINAL packaging, I have migrated many of my items back on Ebay. At least there, I can see where my money goes instead of being funneled away. Do yourself a favor guys, keep a record of all your bank deposits, NOT what Amazon claims you made during the year. You will find it is in the thousands you're getting cheated out of. Amazon at first was a great platform, not anymore.

Can a mod please make me a Forums Escalation for a case I have open? It still needs to be resolved?
