Comply with Extended Producer Responsibility packaging in Spain
If you sell packaged goods or empty packaging on Amazon.es and you aren’t established in Spain, then you must be compliant with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations, as of 2023.
To provide a valid ERN (Número de Registro) and confirm that you’re not the producer of packaging products that you offer on Amazon.es, follow these steps:
- Obtain the ERN from the producer of the packaging in your upstream supply chain.
- Submit your ERN on the Extended Producer Responsibility Compliance Portal.
- Tick the box below the ERN field on the Extended Producer Responsibility Compliance Portal to confirm that you are not the producer, even if you have already submitted a valid ERN.
If you don’t provide a valid ERN and confirm that you’re not a producer by December 31, 2024, you can continue selling and we will provide you with the following benefits:
- Automatically enrol you in our Pay on Behalf service.
- Report and pay eco-contributions on your behalf for your sales on Amazon.es.
- Recover these amounts and a service fee from your seller account, in accordance with the terms and conditions specified in the Extended Producer Responsibility requirements policy for third-party sellers in Spain (only available on sellercentral.amazon.es).
If you need help with obtaining an ERN, go to Extended Producer Responsibility services on Amazon.
