Closing LTD company What happens to my Account?
Hi all, i just need some advice. im in the process of closing my LTD company for the foreseeable future. but i wanted to keep my Amz account. if i was to downgrade my amazon account from business/professional to my personal name, would i then at some point in the future be able to set up a new LTD company and upgrade my account again or is this something that isnt allowed. i have some things im dealing with in my personal life and its best for me close the LTD company and review my circumstances in 1-2 years and see if want to be back on amazon trading. any advice would be appreciated.

Your limited company is a separate legal identity from you personally. Therefore, when you close the company (and Companies House confirm that it has been struck off) that legal entity no longer exists. You cannot therefore transfer a limited company entity to a personal entity on Amazon because the limited company entity would no longer exist. Once everything is properly shut down (both at Companies House and Amazon) then there shouldn't be any problem with creating a personal account on Amazon, providing there is no link between your existing account and any new account.
Just something to remember (which you may already know):
When you apply to Companies House to dissolve the company, all creditors need to be settled before striking off can take place (under voluntary liquidation). This includes the likes of HMRC. The notice of striking off is published in The London Gazette, where everybody can see it and anybody who has any objection to striking off can apply to prevent this.
