Since when is mushrooms a novel food in UK?
My listing appeal is refused stating that mushrooms are classed as a novel product?
How can this be? As other larger sellers selling here for years with similar ingredients.
Mushroom Complex -
Reishi extract, Shiitake extract, Maitake extract, Lions mane extract, Chaga extract, Cordyceps extract.
Can anyone here help me out?

Does it say anywhere on your listing that they prove to lower use of antibiotics etc or any health claims ?
Any use of ‘novel foods products’ on UK market needs authorisation
Are you selling them in grocery or health ?

Hi @isaklove
Pia here to assist you with your concerns.
I understand your concern regarding one of your listings which is being considered as a novel product.
I would recommend you to check the ingredients of your product before creating the listing.
Go through this help page for a better understanding on novel foods/products.
This help page has all the required information on novel foods as well the requirements of selling it on UK Marketplace.
You can also refer to the government guidelines on selling of novel products and what products are considered as novel food items.
As the govt guidelines would be specific for each marketplace.
You can reach out to our selling partner support team for listing creation and related queries by a click here
I hope this resolves your query. Please continue to post on the thread if you have any questions around this.
Regards,
Pia

You have listed items that are not permitted for sale on Amazon. Items listed for sale on Amazon must adhere to all applicable laws and regulations and Amazon’s policies. Here are some examples of products you have listed that violate Amazon policy:
ASIN: B09K6VNNRH
Title: Golden Shrooms Mushroom Complex with Lions Mane, Reishi, Shiitake and Cordyceps Vegan, 60 Capsule
Restricted Product Policy: The sale of unregistered novel food is prohibited on Amazon. Further information can be found here: https://ec.europa.eu/food/food/biotechnology/novelfood/nfnetweb/mod_search/index.cfm
What’s next?
To continue selling on Amazon, you must submit a plan of action within 72 hours. A valid plan of action contains three parts:
– A detailed explanation of the root cause(s) of the violations
– Confirmation that you have closed or deleted all restricted product listings from your inventory
– The proactive steps you have taken to prevent any similar violations in the future
Here are a few things to consider as you create your plan:
– Policies: Carefully review Amazon’s Restricted Products policies in the Amazon Seller Central Help pages.
– Know Your Responsibilities: If you supply goods on Amazon, you are responsible for ensuring that your listings comply with all applicable laws and Amazon’s policies. You can find best practices for compliance with our policies by searching “Additional Information and Resources for Sellers about our Restricted Products Policy” in the Amazon Seller Central Help pages.
– Stay Informed: Laws, regulations and policies are subject to change, and for international sellers, differ from marketplace to marketplace, so audit your inventory for compliance on a regular basis. This particularly includes listings that are added using inventory feeds or uploaded using automated systems.
How do I send the required information?
Please submit this information by clicking the Appeal button on the Account Health page in Seller Central
What happens if I do not provide an acceptable plan of action?
If we do not receive a valid plan of action within 72 hours, you will no longer be able to sell on Amazon and funds will not be transferred to you but will stay in your account while we work with you to address this issue. If we do not receive an acceptable plan of action within 30 days your account may be permanently deactivated. If we do not receive an acceptable plan of action within 30 days your account may be permanently deactivated. We may cancel your listings and hold any funds in your account for up to 90 days.
