The price discount requirements for Prime Day.

Hello, I have a question regarding the price discount requirements for Prime Day.

The guideline says the discount should be at least 5% off the lowest price paid by customers in the last 30 days.

Does a Lightning Deal or Best Deal price count as part of that 30-day lowest price paid by customers?

I’ve read that for the “Was Price,” promotional prices (e.g., limited-time deals) are excluded: “We exclude prices paid by customers for the product when it has been on promotion for a limited time.”

Can you confirm if the same logic applies here?

According to the Prime Day eligibility criteria (the official help link is this one, though it seems to be down at the moment), Lightning Deals and other promotional prices are indeed included in the 30-day lowest price calculation. The exact wording states: "The lowest price in the last 30 days is the lowest customer bought price for the ASIN in that period including all deals, promotional, and sale prices across all sellers."

For Prime Day discounts, your offer must meet the following pricing requirements (from the Eligibility criteria for Prime Day section):

  • At least 20% off the non-member, non-promotional price
  • At least 15% lower than the reference price
  • At least 5% lower than the Was Price
  • Lower than the 30-day lowest price (including all promotional prices)
