Buyer is asking for $500 Gift Card
I am currently experiencing a challenging situation with a buyer from Amazon Canada named Dave Mazzei, who has threatened me with legal sue. Despite reporting the communication to Amazon Support, no action has been taken to address the issue.
The buyer claims that his credit card was stolen; however, the shipping address provided is his own.
The buyer placed four orders, all of which have been refunded. Subsequently, he left negative feedback and is now demanding a $500 gift card as compensation.
Given the lack of protection offered by Amazon Seller Support, I seek guidance on how to handle this situation effectively.

Since the money is all handled by amazon, tell the buyer to send their demand to amazon. You did not accept a "stolen" credit card -- amazon did. The buyer has no legal standing under Canadian law to go after you for additional money (after getting refunded).
Sounds like shakedown scam.
If your products have serial numbers, file a stolen property report for that shipping delivery address with their local police.

This could honestly be a refund scam.
Buyer claims his card was stolen - gets all the product + refunded.
Sells the product he got refunded for cash along with pocketing another $500 from the seller. This screams scam.

Good luck. You are on your own unfortunately. I would take unfair fake review threat instead of giving $500 gift card. It happens sometimes. NoBODY can do anything. Customers are spoiled.

It’s absolutely staggering what Amazon knowingly allows buyers to get away with simply because, you know, the customer is always right. Gift cards are one of the hallmarks of the ‘customer service’ scammers so common in overseas countries nowadays, so I’m not surprised to see scum over here likewise latching onto that scheme. I’m surprised he didn’t ask you for a $500 Amazon gift card so he could buy even more stuff with it!
Not that Amazon’s reps will probably be any help despite what sounds like overwhelming evidence here, but have you asked them to look at the messages where this guy tries to illegally extort you you? At the very least, they should remove the feedback, refund you, and block him from ever shopping on the site again. Of course, what Amazon should do and what they actually do regarding buyers who are literal human garbage are two different things, but it’s still worth drawing this flagrant criminality to their attention.
Unreal.

Personally, I'm not letting a buyer refund scam me out of four orders and then try to extort me out of more money. If Amazon won't protect you, I'd file a police report for mail fraud against the buyer and forward that to Amazon in your appeal.
If the buyer legitimately had his credit card stolen, they'd have filed a police report.

You should NOT have refunded buyer.
Bad feedback still counts as order defect. Because your soft approach, now this buyer abuse the system and go after other sellers.
Amazon absolutely won't care. There is no report function available for reporting abusive buyer.
Your best chance would have been to fight A-to-z guarantee claim but since you have refunded already, nothing can be done now.
