Problems with label orientation for 6x4 Zebra labels. Can Anybody Help?

As my VTR is still 0%, even after changing past orders to Stamps/Franking, I will start buying shipping through Amazon instead of C&D. However this has created a problem with the label orientation to print through my label printer - a Zebra GK420d, which I have had for a while and is brilliant when going via C&D.
When buying the shipping individually I have the option to change the orientation

But when buying in bulk, as I need to do as I print out between 50-100 a day, it does not give that option, just DEFAULT

I have searched the forums and it seems that I should be able to change the setting there, but cannot. The default setting produces a label like this, which is obviously useless

Trying to change my printer settings to make the address fit lengthways, gives a label like this

Can anyone help with this?

I have a Zebra GK420D too and was trying for weeks to get labels to print out 4x6, but like you it came out all wrong. Don’t know what I did wrong or right, but eventually managed to get to print out properly. But in all honesty, don’t know how I achieved it.

I think Buy Shipping memorises the print label option you had previously selected, hence the default label option (and no other options appears).

Select label orientation and size on Buy Shipping. If only default print label is the only option, go back on browser to order page. Select the same order, and Buy Shipping again. It should give you print label options now.

The uploaded labels are huge, like the one you posted. Go to print, select Zebra and scroll down menu option to size you wish. Hopefully the label will align itself.

If it goes wrong, you can apply for refund (though it takes 2 days I think), so revert back to C&D to ensure that order is sent

The good news is once you’ve have it all set up, you can then proceed to bulk buying.

It’s very bizarre, makes no sense.

I had the same issue.
Parcels and Large Letter print fine. However letters print exactly as you have shown above.
I do it this way:

  1. Buy shipping on all orders and print out.
  2. Disable (Exit) Amazon Print Connect (from the “hidden icons” list bottom right of your screen)
  3. Go into shipped items and one by one scroll to the letters. Click into each one and “reprint label” as landscape.

I only have 3 or 4 letters a day so it’s not too much of a hassle. Could be bad if you have a lot…

In printer settings before printing in bulk are you able to change any of the Page Sizing & Handling settings?

Are you using a Mac or a PC?

Hi, we use the same printer as you. We only use buy shipping for our seller fulfilled Prime orders and find that its so much easier when downloading Amazon Print Connect to our computer. Have you tried this?

In the Zebra print settings have you checked that the size is set to 10 x 15?

Diablo gave you the correct answer.

Change the printer settings on your PC, dont worry about Amazon settings.

I had this exact probl when using Amazon buy shipping for Letter size with a Dymo 4XL (6x4) & also a Zebra (6x4).

The printer automatically spits out the label without the need to press print using Amazon Connect.

I posted here several times that I couldn’t change the orientation and like you I’d get the letter landscape label (half) printed across the top of the portrait label.

Then I had to cancel the label and rebook direct with RM.

SS and others said it shouldn’t be like that but I still haven’t found a way to evennset any preferences for printing via Amazon Connect.

In the end I just stopped trying and before VTR I used RM directly.

Unless I’ve missed it I don’t think there is a solution for this anomaly.

Some fantastic suggestions and I really appreciate the help.
I do have my printer settings perfect as I have been successfully printing them off on my Royal Mail account since last year.
What I cannot understand is I do not have the option to change the label orientation when buying in bulk
When googling how to Buy Shipping in Bulk on Amazon, their own advice says this - “At the bottom footer of the page, select the label print orientation, ship-from location and ship date that you want for your labels” But I do not have this option, only DEFAULT as shown in my image I showed earlier :point_up_2:
