Why am I being charged for buyer's returns?
Hi I wonder if f anyone can help me. I’m a relatively new seller just over a month and I’m being charged postage for customers returning items eg a Light shade that just doesn’t suit either size or colour wise. I have a friend that’s been a seller on Amazon for a number of years and he showed me his return settings and get are totally different from mine. I have no option to stop prepaid returns labels.
He has a number of options to opt out too.
Am I missing something or is this a new seller problem that they have added.
It will break me financially if items are being returned because they are unsuitable.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I can’t see what other box I need to untick because it’s all circles but I have ticked the email one.
Will ticking this one make any difference?

Looking at the options you have second one seems best.
First one looks like you’ll pay for return no matter what the reason.
Second looks like its paid depending on buyer reason for return.
All this is category dependant as some you have no option but to pay for return.
A lamp shade should be only paid return if faulty, damaged or not as described.

Even if the Buyer obtains a pre-paid Returns Label, YOU can still deduct that cost from the refund (as long as it is an unwanted item).
I would say:
Email format: leave unticked.
Returns Requests: Top Blob.
RMA: I want to provide a Returns Merchandise Authorisation Number (then each return will be emailed to you).
You can add extra details in the return instructions, such as that unwanted items incur a return cost when using the pre-paid label.

Mine is different, I think as you signed up to use the pre-paid label as they now want. I do not know if you can remove such.

What if I want to un-enroll in the Prepaid Return Label program?
All prepaid return label MFN sellers who would like to un-enroll from the program need to contact Seller Support. Once unenrolled, the change will reflect in the seller account in 14 days.

We are SFP and we had to have this implemented.
As already mentioned:
The buyer does get a a message saying that the return shipping cost may be deducted from their refund if its for a reason that it can be deducted (Byers Remorse)

You need to set up your setting for unpaid label provide and also selection option amazon generate authorized number .So customer pay for return postage if no longer needed item change his mind etc. You need to go in orders there will be option manage returns click on it and select the setting for returns.
selection option
1: I want Amazon to generate a Return Merchandise Authorisation number
2:I would like Amazon to provide an un-paid mailing label.
put your return address in return address box and save setting.
